i feel like i'm peeing into an ocean of pee here i take it you've never taken a media studies course a skull is a generic representation of badness/evil. it's used all over the place and there is no evidence relating it to the insignia of any evil society her hand gesture represents the illuminati? whose theory? anyone credible? and being wrapped in barb wire is meant to represent danger quite obviously you're connecting dots that don't exist there is NO conclusive evidence of the existence of such a society You are taking your point of view... and assuming it correct. I simply told you of the theory of the hand gesture. There have been politicians such as bush, obama, clinton, and etc use the same hand gesture. Same with many music artist. If you like I could supply photos. I would like to add though you can not also rely on education courses to explain everything. You quickly defined everything and gave a reason as to why she was wearing a skull and barbwire. Honestly to ask me if I ever took a media course then come up with such elementary explanations doesn't make too much sense. =x xD i'm not comparing myself to rihanna, i'm just saying i grew up and so did she. i happen to also enjoy wearing crazy clothes, and would wear more outrageous things had i the finances. if i were able to sell my artwork solely because i wore clothing that could possibly be mistaken for an occult reference, by god i would. xD edit; and that pic of rihanna in barbed wire -- i'd say she's more of a BDSM-er than an illuminati. That's a simple way of looking at it, imo. If she was to truthfully be in the Illuminati it would be simple assumptions like that which would allow the Illuminati to exist to even today. These artist flaunt it and we haven't even gone into the lyrics. Also her hand gesture also represents(supposedly) due to theory, Illuminati. You mean the devil horns? As in, the gesture made popular by the likes of Ronnie James Dio, and then adopted by the entire rock and roll culture, and through it modern pop culture? Illuminati has been around since the late 1700s per Wikipedia. Who is to say they didn't have a role in Rock like they have (IMO) in recent day Hip-Hop/Rap/Pop?

Theories that can't be proven. =/ Pretty much keeps it secret... doesn't make it any less true or any less false though. That's why it's a conspiracy.

I guess it's considered a secret society per the reason they don't know if it exist or not. From my understanding back in the 1700s it wasn't a secret. Some of the smartest men in the world were apart of this society. Today in modern times though it is unknown whether the group died off with time or still exist.

@chancep. - eh, i suppose. imho, if the illuminati are truly what they're being dressed up to be as [rather than what their purpose was stated as, historically], they would've allowed the belief that their group had been disbanded/died out to permeate society so as to better operate.
@pawl - ofc not. B]

I think somebody's been reading way too much Dan Brown. The best way to make it in the music industry is to be different, and that includes fashion and behaviour as well as the voice. Just look at Lady Gaga. She's completely original and that's how she's got such a huge fanbase. Rihanna's just doing her own thing and quite frankly it isn't evidence at all that she's part of a 'secret' organisation! If you're under the impression that barbed wire makes somebody a Satanist, does that mean that any farmer who puts it up around their crops is also a Satanist?

Sure, conspiracy theories can be interesting (sometimes anyway), but most of the time they're just a load of rubbish designed to make people panic and start attacking their government (perhaps not physically attacking them, but who knows?).
