Forum URL: usmelllikedante.proboards.com/index.cgiHere is my question. I want to make a default skin. The problem is, the banner at the top of my board stays the same if you change to a default skin. I want a different banner with each default. How is this accomplished if only one banner is in the header code?

Hi,
Could you rephrase that, as you can only have 1 default skin, but you seem to be saying you have more than one?

Ugh sorry. I want people to be able to choose whatever skin they want. The problem is that there is a banner in my global header that only matches the default skin.
How do you have optional skins with matching banners? I don't understand how to do this.
A friend makes my art for the skins and she always does the banner and background image separately. Is that the problem?

Could you not put the banner in the logo option of the modify skin page?

Actually I want it at the top of the page, and I want it bigger than that welcome table. My default banner now is at the top and I put it in the header. I'm guessing I wasn't supposed to put the banner in the global header. lol

You could. But if you want it skin dependant, then in the modify skin is better. You could use the codes in the [codedatabase] to move the welcome message below the logo.

Thanks!
I know the information is on here, but usually I don't know what the code titles mean. I am looking to change the little cartoonish file icons into jpeg pictures. I've seen this done other places. Can you tell me what the name of that code is?

You can change any of the default images via the Customise Board Images option in your admin area admin >> skins / forum colors >> customise board images.

I put the banners in the logo spot and deleted the banner from the global header.
I added the "Hey X" code in the global header, but the text hasn't moved.
SORRY I'M A PAIN!

Hi, Click the 'headers and footers' link in your admin panel, and then click the link where it says "Click here to manage your headers and footers preferences.". Once in there, find the option for "Global Header Position:" and set this to "Below Title Bar" and that should make the code work for you
