If you're setting a key wouldn't set_on('post_quick_reply'...) work? That only works if the key is a post or thread key. If you are trying to set a user key or global key you cant target the one you want

I set a Super Forum key in the Recent Threads code with pb.plugin.key('updated_threads').set_on('post_quick_reply', keyData);

Are you setting up the set_on in the submit button itself on that mousedown? Im wondering if the beforeSubmit idea Virgil was using could setup the set_on in order to make sure eveything has already changed.

All that code is doing on that page is collecting the relative information, such as thread name, ID etc and updating the current key data on page load, then setting the set_on function with the updated info. No mousedown, mouseup, mouseover or any other mouse function involved.

I think I'm going to have to still use decoys then. If some sort of processing is going to be involved before setting a key, you can't setup that set-on when the page loads.

Not when the page loads, no.. I have used 'mousedown' to trigger a function that collates relative data and have set the set_on function from within that mousedown function. That seems to work.

Hi Todge, I'm trying to set this plug in up on someone's forum and I just can't seem to get it to work. blossomfriendships.proboards.com/forumI have tried single ', double ", and I get nowhere. I have a bunch of urls in there and not all are coded proper. I did a few to see if it was going to work. Do they all have to be coded proper to get any to show? Also, if you go to the link don't get confused by the huge images in there. The admin uploaded those to the theme manager smilies. I have since, sized a few down, made them transparent and put them into categories in your plug in. I just don't want to delete them from her theme manager smilies until I know I can get your plug in to work. Can you please take a peek and see what I am doing wrong? I have even tried moving it to the top under yootil. nothing.

One thing I see straight away is that you do not have the titles in quotes... smilie[0]<b>Good Morning</b> should be... smilie[0] = "<b>Good Morning</b>"; To make things easier, with the latest version of the plugin you can drop all the formatting altogether, so instead of having.. smilie[0]="<b>Good Morning</b>"; smilie[1]="http://i1302./ag131/janedoe1/Marti/Images/rainbow_zpszuqkkhli.jpg"; smilie[2]="<b>Good Afternoon</b>"; smilie[3]="http://i1302./ag131/janedoe1/Marti/Images/afternoon_zpseh4q9dkm.png"; smilie[4]="Good Night"; smilie[5]="http://i1302./ag131/janedoe1/Marti/Images/YLpztovbzYpb3mq7xxcG_zpsjo1i3c5c.jpg"; etc.. You can simply have... <b>Good Morning</b> http://i1302./ag131/janedoe1/Marti/Images/rainbow_zpszuqkkhli.jpg <b>Good Afternoon</b> http://i1302./ag131/janedoe1/Marti/Images/afternoon_zpseh4q9dkm.png <b>Good Night</b> http://i1302./ag131/janedoe1/Marti/Images/YLpztovbzYpb3mq7xxcG_zpsjo1i3c5c.jpg Or... You can use the Smilie Management plugin to help sort them for you...

Its much nicer now that you don't have to use all the brackets. Wonderful upgrade.

If the version you are using is working, whether to upgrade or not is entirely up to you. Just bare in mind that should you have any issues, the first thing you would be asked is to upgrade to the latest version, as previous versions, as a rule, are no longer supported.

If you don't need the features and a critical bug has not been fixed since, I don't see a reason to upgrade. Upgrading can always create undesired complications depending on the layout of your forum or how much key data has been changed. If you have the original install file for 1.9 (as backup) and you are starting fresh, you should probably update because you can.
