It has come to my attention that one of my members from my site has gained a significant amount of points for the Beta. I am formally asking that those points be removed.
The website is
The amount of points is 106.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Collecting points does not mean you necessarily need to 'use' the points to collect your prize. Upgrading your forum and receiving ad-free credits are optional. If you do not wish to upgrade your forum or receive ad-free credits, just ignore the points. I hope this answered your question!

Mmm, well I was just wondering since we have 318 points at the time of the contest we could be dropped down to 212.

Is there any reason you need these points to be dropped? I'm afraid I'm a little confused here!

Yes, someone from my site wanted to help us out and got a little over excellus and racked up that many points. I would like the points removed. I do not wish for our site to be seen as a "cheater" nor do we wish to be disqualified.

Michael, if it is found that a forum is cheating, it can be grounds for disqualification. Ryan Roos was talking about it.

We're going to have a meeting to discuss this, this afternoon. We will decide if/how points will be removed.
A PM with any details involving this would greatly help your case. (ie. details of how this was accomplished, especially if we are going to remove points from an area).
On a side note, I find it interesting that cheating was okay until I posted that it wasn't.

I noticed that sudden jump in points and had to immediately question it. But I also question how it was done. Did that one person create that many other global accounts and get 4 points awarded by each?

It was not our intention to be cheating. As I said one of our members were a little over excited, especially since we were offering rewards to anyone who was willing to follow the links and follow the instructions in promoting the site. I was notified on the amount this member had done, and now I am here asking that it is removed.
I did ask how it was accomplished and from my understanding it was by multiple created accounts through multiple emails. I know of the exact amount because of the "reward" system we had implemented on our own site.

After careful deliberating with fellow staff members it has come to my attention that the best course of action would be to formally request a withdraw of the contest. This seems to be the best course of action for several reasons.
1. My Site of nearly 7 years has has a reputation to uphold, and cheating is not a distinguished honor we which to carry.
2. Point removal is far to large for a simple removal of points. If it were perhaps 2, or 4 points then perhaps that would be a better course of action.
3. It was never our intention to become first. We merely wished to have our name in the light as advertisement for our website. With the current misunderstanding we no longer believe we should be in the light as now it looks bad upon us, and may cause further misunderstandings.
We apologize for the misunderstandings, and ask that we may be withdrawn from the contest.
Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your time. -Usiel We appreciate what you are saying, however, we have already removed 102 points that we found were earned through improper means. You are still in the contest. Thank you for being honest. I just made a post in the contest thread if you would like to read more.
