Would that be Ashkir? Or am I thinking of someone else?? If it is, I have Ash on twitter. See a few updates from him. Not sure if you're on about the same dude, but I've got Ash on Facebook if you want to find him Craig. =] @ nickisashkir is his twitter name. And his real name is Nick. Same one or no?

No. Ash is short for Ashley. He's not been around here for ages. i only ever joined SSD for some icons or something for the forum I ran back then, but it really does say something about how successful it was to see that it's still being talked about years after it's peak. There were other popular design forums around back then, but it's only ever SSD that anyone ever talks about now.

SSD was the only forum on which I posted when it was around. It was the main reason that I was never active on PBS actually.
I kind of always looked at it as the unofficial official proboards design forum. Most of the top designers and coders were avid users of it and it was by far the biggest one of the forums of that type.
I really wish it was never closed down. It was the reason I went into computer science in University and it also began my hobby into photography. I also matured a lot as a result of posting there, even if I still had a long way to go.

This verbatim for myself. If I remember, it was pretty much obligatory to refer people to SSD even here when it came down to more complex requests. Oh man, if SSD came back along with all the l337 originals, with a decade under their belts, the potential is astronomical. What kind of collab project would come out of that

Because I know there was another ash here for quite sometime then he stopped doing forums a few years back.

Hahaha my oh my, so many familiar faces! I didn't know that this thread existed until now! Haha, thanks Sugilite, and yes, you got it right, lol. It has indeed been over 10 years for me also since I've been on Solid Snake Designs. Honestly, at first, my home was at Syphonic Killer's aka Zero Tolerance's Game Zone | Evolution....I had no plans on joining, especially after the fiasco with Peter and SK ( I think one of the many issues was RPG Inferno being superior to RPG Phoenix). The rivalry was high, and I kindly lurked the boards just to take a look around. Before I coded for ProBoards, I began coding for Suddenlaunch and Hyperboards because despite the layouts being quite similar (I didn't like HB's large template scheme though), ProBoards seemed a bit "premium new" to me for some odd reason, lol, so I hesitated.
When I first joined SSD, I was pretty much a n00b, but while there, people like WebWorldX (and later, Peter) gave me a helping hand supported me. ZT taught me a lot beforehand, and I always stayed by his side throughout. I've earned my position and moderated his boards for a few years, and of course we were good friends.
So, after GZE closed down for the final time, I most certainly made SSD my new home. But even still, there were so many rules to follow, and Pat didn't make things any easier. I also wonder whatever happened to Zanmato Designs? Anyways, I posted here to celebrate my 10 year coding anniversary, I just recently restored all of my old PBv3 and PBv4 codes (ALL of them) and posted them with backed up screenshots (some have no saved screenshots)....I had backed up my original posts, so nearly all codes there contain their original 10 year old post release. Took me over 10 hours to get all that done, but I found it appropriate for the occassion.
Freelance coding was fun, and was a great passion of mines back then! Good fun times.

I was a moderator for the Introduction board for SSD back when they were using their version 3 design. I remember Uchiha Sasuke, Invader Jello, and Nadim. Everyone wanted to learn PHP and make their own forum systems. Good times. Edit: I also remember a user who always had a Vida Guerra signature showcasing dat butt. Don't remember who though.. haha. Wooooowwww... I didn't actually read this thread before :X But holy crap, I'm honored to be remembered at any regard (I was Uchiha_Sasuke back then). AND on top of that, Peter, Ash, Mr Stabby! Hope you all realize you influenced my life in a positive respect (especially Peter). Thanks guys! Sorry for reviving this old thread guys, but man, this is like looking at a highschool year book... You gave me a sub-domain on Deathbladedojo and provided me with some basic PHP/SQL guidance back in 2004-2005. This contributed to my continued interest in programming and making software dev my career. Thanks man haha.

I'm not upset at all that this thread was revived. I really miss SSD and I wish it would come back to life. I got my start in graphic and web design there!

I love this post. I was living in Brooklyn, NY in early 2000's and would post at SSD all day long and enter all the battles! So much fun! I remember Naruto, One Piece, etc were huge and everyone had usernames from those shows! I agree every other board was a graphic design bard it seemed. I even created my own proboard Graphic Arts Learning Center (GALC). It was fun! I miss those days of innocence! Man what a community.
