Forum URL: kurtcantona.proboards92.comI am wanting to add the current FA Barclaycard Premier League Table onto my forum for the football fans, and I was wondering if there was any software I can download whereby I enter the size of the table, and the information in the respective field(s), and then get the software to calculate the UBBC code for it? I have tried using the table generator on mrfrufru.com, and whilst it gives great results, I need to manually enter all of the information into the code itself, which is going to take ages if I'm updating my table once or twice a week. Sorry if there isnt anything and this is a stupid question, I just really want to get this table into my forum. Thanks in advance for any help Jamie

I don't see how the process could be automated any more than that. The information has to get into the table somehow.

The information has to get into the table somehow. probably what they're asking for is the ability to put in an existing table, or perhaps save table data, then import it later, so they can make slight modifications. Perhaps I could set up a downloadable table-saving system. I have some time over the coming week. I'll likely need your help though Cali

yeah, what I was wondering about is exactly like your table editor, only one that allows me to enter information into the cells BEFORE the code is generated. The table generator Im using allows me to enter the table specs, cell padding, alignment, and background and display info. If what cali is saying is true, do you have a link to this? The one I'm using is at www.mrfrufru.com/asp/tablegenerator.asp, but I cant find anywhere to enter the information directly into the cells without going into the resulting UBBC code. Do you know of anything that would allow me to do all this AND enter the required information into the cells BEFORE the code is generated? For example In row 1 column 1 I want the word "Team", row 1 column 2 "Played", row 1 column 3 "Won" and so on. Then in row 2 column 1, "Chelsea", row 3 column 1 "Manchester United" etc. I know I can get this done by editing the information in the resulting UBBC code, but as frubug said, once this was done could I then edit the table as league positions change, without having to go back and change it all in the UBBC code again? Sorry if this sounds silly, I'm new to this and am just trying to create as good a forum as I can. Cheers Jamie

Perhaps what I should also implement is the ability to add/delete columns in through the table editor so that you can estimate a table size then if it's too small you can add rows/columns, or if it's too big you can remove rows/columns?

lol tried google first Ultimately it would be something a bit like MS Excel to use (ie enter the information into the cells etc), also with the add/remove cell feature (if it came out too big or small) which you suggested, and could then generate the code after all the information had been entered? The code would then result with something like

For now, you'll need to keep digging around google Thanks for the suggestions. *bookmarks thread* P.S. If you want to talk about specific details, you can email me too, if you won't be hanging around the support board.

Using Excel's "Save as wep-page" feature would allow you to convert it to HTML I believe. Which could probably then be converted to UBBC.

Well I'm not sure how Excel's HTML looks. If it's simple, basic table tags it'd be as easy as converting angle brackets into straight brackets, but knowing Microsoft's baffling ability to generate complete crap when it comes to HTML that's probably not the case. I just tried it with a 3x3 simple table with the text 'a' in each cell, and here's what I got:
<html xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:x="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:excel" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40">
<head> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <link rel=Original-File href=Book1> <meta name=ProgId content=Excel.Sheet> <meta name=Generator content="Microsoft Excel 10"> <link rel=File-List href="Book1_files/filelist.xml"> <link rel=Edit-Time-Data href="Book1_files/editdata.mso"> <link rel=OLE-Object-Data href="Book1_files/oledata.mso"> <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:DocumentProperties> <o:Author>Admin</o:Author> <o:LastAuthor>Admin</o:LastAuthor> <o:Created>2006-03-11T04:24:48Z</o:Created> <o:LastSaved>2006-03-11T04:25:02Z</o:LastSaved> <o:Company> USC</o:Company> <o:Version>10.2625</o:Version> </o:DocumentProperties> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:DownloadComponents/> <o:LocationOfComponents HRef="file:///D:\"/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--> <style> <!--table {mso-displayed-decimal-separator:"\."; mso-displayed-thousand-separator:"\,";} @page {margin:1.0in .75in 1.0in .75in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in;} tr {mso-height-source:auto;} col {mso-width-source:auto;} br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;} .style0 {mso-number-format:General; text-align:general; vertical-align:bottom; white-space:nowrap; mso-rotate:0; mso-background-source:auto; mso-pattern:auto; color:windowtext; font-size:10.0pt; font-weight:400; font-style:normal; text-decoration:none; font-family:Arial; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-charset:0; border:none; mso-protection:locked visible; mso-style-name:Normal; mso-style-id:0;} td {mso-style-parent:style0; padding-top:1px; padding-right:1px; padding-left:1px; mso-ignore:padding; color:windowtext; font-size:10.0pt; font-weight:400; font-style:normal; text-decoration:none; font-family:Arial; mso-generic-font-family:auto; mso-font-charset:0; mso-number-format:General; text-align:general; vertical-align:bottom; border:none; mso-background-source:auto; mso-pattern:auto; mso-protection:locked visible; white-space:nowrap; mso-rotate:0;} --> </style> <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <x:ExcelWorkbook> <x:ExcelWorksheets> <x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:Name>Sheet1</x:Name> <x:WorksheetOptions> <x:Selected/> <x:Panes> <x:Pane> <x:Number>3</x:Number> <x:ActiveRow>3</x:ActiveRow> </x:Pane> </x:Panes> <x:ProtectContents>False</x:ProtectContents> <x:ProtectObjects>False</x:ProtectObjects> <x:ProtectScenarios>False</x:ProtectScenarios> </x:WorksheetOptions> </x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:Name>Sheet2</x:Name> <x:WorksheetOptions> <x:ProtectContents>False</x:ProtectContents> <x:ProtectObjects>False</x:ProtectObjects> <x:ProtectScenarios>False</x:ProtectScenarios> </x:WorksheetOptions> </x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:Name>Sheet3</x:Name> <x:WorksheetOptions> <x:ProtectContents>False</x:ProtectContents> <x:ProtectObjects>False</x:ProtectObjects> <x:ProtectScenarios>False</x:ProtectScenarios> </x:WorksheetOptions> </x:ExcelWorksheet> </x:ExcelWorksheets> <x:WindowHeight>9210</x:WindowHeight> <x:WindowWidth>11355</x:WindowWidth> <x:WindowTopX>480</x:WindowTopX> <x:WindowTopY>30</x:WindowTopY> <x:ProtectStructure>False</x:ProtectStructure> <x:ProtectWindows>False</x:ProtectWindows> </x:ExcelWorkbook> </xml><![endif]--> </head>
