Is the upgrade still in progress? I had a message ages ago to say my forum would be upgraded during May (and no further messages about it since), but as far as I'm aware, it doesn't seem to have happened yet. I don't mind because I admit I'm a little wary of the change and the old version functions perfectly well for my forum's reasonably simple needs, but just thought I'd check in case there's something I'm supposed to have done, or in case I'm suddenly going to be hit by the upgrade somewhere out of the blue, when I'm least expecting it.

amanika, the automatic converter has been on-and-off due to some technical difficulties that pushed the completion date back considerably. However, as the main admin of your forum, you have the power to either opt out of the conversion until Dec 31st 2013 (or whenever you're ready to opt back in), or to upgrade right now. Both of these options are found by going to your admin control panel and locating the box at the top of the page that reads "This forum is eligible to upgrade to v5". Simply locate and click on the link that says "Click here to get started!" to get access to the powers I mentioned above.

Brilliant, thank you very much. It makes sense to take the upgrade really I know, I'm just a bit worried about what changes I'll have to make to accommodate for it. I've been watching the videos and such, but am still a little confused. I know I'll loose my current header and footer contents initially (though as I understand it, they'll be preserved, just not enabled), but I don't quite follow on how much of the colour and style of my forum will be lost. Will I have to recolour code all of my forum skin and such? Sorry for all the questions, just a bit confused.

If you have your forum colored and styled via the skin area in the admin panel, it will remain the same. If you have it done with CSS and javascript. You will have to redo it. But the new theme area should be more than sufficient to do what you need. If you need help you can always just ask in the appropriate area, and you will surely get help. I'm sure after a few weeks you can have your forum back to its former glory.

Congrats team. I didn't realize v5 was already being released. It's certainly a pretty amazing accomplishment, you should all be very proud. But is this transition perhaps the reason for the slow server response and occasional time-outs on my boards? I did an early upgrade to v5 and was extremely pleased with all the new features and aesthetics. But lately myself and other members have been noticing generally slow performance (both on PC/Mac browsers as well as Apple/Android apps). If it's due to the transition, then I understand and I'll just tell people to be patient (any ETA for the completion of the change-over?). But if that's not the problem, is there anything else I could do to improve server response speeds? Thanks. It has been awhile since I checked in here. The new Proboards version looks great. Nice job Patrick!

I'll maybe go through and save a few bits and pieces just in case and then take the upgrade.
