I'm only seeing the warning level and the warning notes as new additions to the profiles.
In my own profile, I see the new 'user notes' section.
But if I view any other member's profile, I don't see an area for me to add notes in their profile... that they can see. I only have the account notes for staff only to see.
I checked the General Settings, and the only new selection is to disable or enable the warning meter.
I tried to modify groups and modify the Global Admins, but there's no option for 'user notes' there either.
Any ideas?

Only a member can edit their notes. Not staff. User notes are personal to the user only.

That's not what the remarks by the user notes say:

look the message says that notes you enter about yourself CANT be seen by a staff member who adds in a note for you to read
only you have the ability to see notes submitted by yourself and by a staff member

Did you read what it says by the "warning notes" in the members profile? What you add in there the member will see in there own USER notes.

The notes state that only the user can see what they enter.
It also says that Staff can add notes for you to read.
I'm the admin on my board and my question was where exactly is it that I can add notes for the member to read.
George, I'm not asking to see their notes. Please re-read my question before putting words in my mouth.

Ok... so to put remarks for the user in their own "user notes" area... we have to use the "warning notes" field... correct?

Yes, the users notes is totaly for the user, not for the admin to use in any way. The only reason there is the facility to add to the users notes like that is because users cannot see normal account notes, and therefore reasons for warnings.
The text entered in the reason for warning box, is automaticly added to users notes (so they can see what they did) and the account notes, so the admin has a record

Ok, so I just tried it with a test account and it didn't add any notes to the user notes area. It put the notes in the account notes section from an admin point of view, but nothing showed up notes-wise in the user's profile.
I used Firefox and I set the meter to 100 and added remarks of "Testing the user notes" and it showed up in the account notes as "Testing the user notes - Issued: Jan 25, 2006, 2:11pm" -- but when I open another browser (IE) and logged in as that user, there's nothing in the user notes.

yay!! it works!! Thanks Martyn!! you rock!!
and I just tested with that test account too.. if anyone was interested to know...
It works now with the warning meter AND without:
if you make a comment by itself in the warning notes, it will post that comment in the user's profile ---- without actually using the warning level (if you leave it at zero).
And even if you delete the remarks that you made from the warning notes (in the account notes area), it doesn't delete it from the user's profile notes. So if you make an error, once you've modified the profile, you can't fix it without them seeing what you already did the first time.
So just becareful with what you put in the warning notes... make sure it's something you actually want them to see.
