Hi all. Through the forum settings, I created an automatic PM to send to new users. Here is what I am using: Hi $[user.recipient]. Welcome to our fun and lively community. We hope you stick around and become active, showing us just how insane you are!
Why not customize your forum with our [a href="http://smangii.proboards.com/board/27/v5-themes"]Themes[/a] and [a href="http://smangii.proboards.com/board/28/v5-layout-templates"]Layout Template Modifications[/a], or how to create your very own amazing and unique theme, with [a href="http://smangii.proboards.com/thread/38907/smangiis-theme-guide-proboards-v5"]Smangii's V5 Theme Guide[/a].
Happy posting :) It displays fine in the conversation, however, I noticed it adds a weird box and a number in the bottom left, as seen below: I have only tested this with one account, because I don't want to go creating lots just for this purpose. The account in question is the username: 19730 Yes that's the username not ID (it was a testa ccount for this purely )
Also is there a way to edit the mini profile for the ghost account of "Forum Staff", the "member" that sends the automatic PM? We want it to look more human and have an avatar for instance, and some other additional information. At the moment it's not too friendly and you can tell it's just a bot.

Forgive my ignorance. Where did you edit this welcome PM? Is it a plugin?

Forgive my ignorance. Where did you edit this welcome PM? Is it a plugin? No plugin. Admin > Settings > Forum Settings > Login & registration (tab) Then at the bottom there is a bit for "Registration Settings". I think it's relatively new. Not sure how new though.

You kinda had me a little worried, thinking maybe I was going crazy, not able to see a plugin for it lol. And just to note, I am using Chrome when this happens. I also just tested another account (Chrome again), and it too has that box with a zero in

Hi, Stinky666. This seems to be caused by the Quick Reply BBCode Buttons plugin. You'll want to consult the author to see about making it compatible with the automatic welcome PM. I imagine the Mini-Profile of the welcome PM is customizable via a plugin. I may or may not begin working on that soon, since it sounds like fun. Edit: Here, have a plugin!
