Unable to quote posts with pictures

Hey guys, some members are having difficulty quoting posts with pictures. Anyone have suggestions why?

Hey CheatAreZee, here's a picture with a post with just text and a post with a picture. There is no "quote" option for the post with the picture. By the way, I can quote using my admin account but regular members are the ones who experience this issue.

I found the post on your forum, but don't have any troubles seeing the quote button when using a regular account on the forum. Can you let me know the username of the member that reported this to you? Also, what web browser are they using?

CheatAreZee, to be honest it was one of my test member accounts and I was using Chrome for iPad.

May I ask what the username of that account is? I just want to view the topic while using that account to see whether or not I experience the same issue. One other test too, since you noted you were using Chrome on iPad, does the same issue occur for you when using the Safari browser? Or when using a regular computer?

CheatAreZee, I've tried it with chrome and it does the same. The account username I'm trying it with is 'ridingdirty'. I haven't tried it on a computer yet, I'll do so now.

Sounds good, just took a look at it now with the account and am still able to see the quote button fine. Let me know what you find out when you get the chance trying it on a computer

I've just tried it on my laptop using the same account and the quote button appears for a second but once the page loads completely, it disappears.

I see now, I guess I didn't wait long enough. I see them disappear now, but they don't do that when I disable all plugins for the forum. Have you installed any plugins recently since you began to notice this? Can you try individually disabling the plugins until the issue goes away to see which one is causing the issue?

CheatAreZee, Thanks for the tip, I've found out which plugin was causing the issue. It's this one - support.proboards.com/thread/434032/image-security

Sounds good. Looks like that's one of the intentions of that particular plugin, so that people couldn't quote a post to get the URL of an image used. If you want members to be able to quote posts with pictures, I'm afraid that plugin will have to stay disabled. Otherwise, at least you know the cause for it

I have the Image Security plugin running on my forum - images can be quoted. Try just blocking from 'Guests only' in the plugin image security settings.
