Hey guys, is there any way to modify the poll such as adding more options, editing an option, etc after posting it?

Hi, Baller95. It's not possible to edit a poll after it's created. This is to avoid manipulating the voting in the poll. However, you can remove an existing poll and simply create another one in the same thread.

Ah ok I see, thanks Brian! it's too bad admin can't edit it but if I were to delete it and make a new on, would everyone have to vote again?

Brian, can this be added as a suggestion? I know with other forums this is an option and I don't see the harm in it. It's annoying realizing later on that you made a spelling mistake or forgot to add an option after people vote. People can change their votes at any time can't they?

Users can retract their own votes and decide to vote for something else, but that should be the decision of the user, not a staff member. You should have zero influence over the outcome of the poll.
The point is to prevent the possibility of poll manipulation. In the grand scheme of things, typo correction is a trivial thing compared to having a fair poll.
Poll editing is not going to be added.

I don't want the ability to change users votes. All I'm asking is if I can add more options to the poll or edit a current option after posting. Being the site Admin I respect my members and wouldn't alter anything other than a spelling mistake. This isn't an official government voting poll Brian I don't know why the serious policy about a simple forum feature without even considering my suggestion for the future.

Being the site Admin I respect my members and wouldn't alter anything other than a spelling mistake. This isn't an official government voting poll Brian I don't know why the serious policy about a simple forum feature without even considering my suggestion for the future. We want polls to be as powerful as possible. We actually have a huge list of future features planned for polls, none of which I can really discuss yet because I'm unsure which ones will eventually become features. What Brian is trying to say is that by adding more poll options once the poll is initially created (and therefore users have started to vote) is that you can add more desirable options later, thus skewing the poll in a particular direction. We aim to make polls as unbiased and fair (and free from tampering, even from admins) as we possibly can, so that the poll system can be trusted both by admins, and members. Therefore you cannot make additions or subtractions or modifications to the poll once it has been created. Brian isn't unwilling to hear new ideas (none of us are) but this is an idea that we've already discussed in the office in detail.

I checked our future features list for Brian after seeing this thread.
We do (eventually) plan to expand the features of polls quite a lot. At that time we will be adding and edit function so that additional options can be added. However for the sake of the poll if more options are added or if existing options are edited the poll will be reset. A poll that can have answers changed at any time isn't a poll at all. But we do understand that typos can happen at creation and that the author (or staff) should be able to make changes when needed.
As I said this is a future feature and will not be until one of our future updates (many months from now).

Saw this! Thanks! I made a typo before anyone posted and so many options to retype to get it right A poll preview would be amazing!

When you have lots of options its pain to retype everything for a typo. Thanks.

It's still an eventually. We're mostly working on fixing and perfecting existing stuff before we add new stuff.
