Forum URL: oatcakefanzine.proboards.comWe've had reports from a couple of members that when they load a thread the page automatically scrolls to the bottom of the page. They are using Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else had this problem or are aware of it?

They are using Chrome and Firefox. Anyone else had this problem or are aware of it? Is this any thread in any board? Is it a specific thread in a specific board? Or a specific board with all threads in said board? If not the first option, which board, and/or specific thread? Does it only happen on threads with multiple pages, single pages or both? Not sure? Can you ask the members to test it?

Just had these replies Stinky: Single page threads are fine, multi-page threads seem to be fine as long as you click 'next' whilst at the top of the page, but obviously if you're reading the thread you get to the bottom & then press 'next'. It's then hit 'n' miss asto where you end up but the few threads I just tested had half of them plonk me viewing the chatroom & the other half stick me somewhere random in the middle of the page.Read more: oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/218880/opening-thread#ixzz2dBXJ08flMy problem is the same as D.C's. In addition, when I click to open a thread, especially the 'Transfers' thread, which I am following, it opens at page 1, instead of taking me to the page that I was last on.Read more: oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/218880/opening-thread#ixzz2dBXf6dgP

Can you link to a multi-page thread on your forum to test this on? My problem is the same as D.C's. In addition, when I click to open a thread, especially the 'Transfers' thread, which I am following, it opens at page 1, instead of taking me to the page that I was last on. Are they clicking on the thread title or are they clicking on one of the page numbers? If you click the thread title it's going to always open at page 1. What exactly are they clicking?

Scrolling to the bottom of the page and pressing the Next button puts me back at the top of the page every time and switches it to the next page, as intended. Do you know what browser they're using?

Hi britannia, In regards to onepara, the person that started the topic you linked to, since they noted that it's not an issue for them with other web browsers can you have him give something a try? In chrome, click the menu button in the top-right hand corner of the Chrome browser, next click the "New Incognito Window" option. With the new window that opens up, can they visit the forum and see if the issue persists with that mode enabled? Or does it work fine with that?

Just wanted to update, since another topic was created about this issue. One of our developers asked for something that could help us determine the cause of the issue. For the members that experience the issue, can you have them do the following?: Hm, I can't seem to reproduce it either. Can you do me a favor, and follow these steps: 1. Go to any thread where this happens, click the next button 2. Once the page loads, don't scroll it up or down or modify it in any way 3. Take a screenshot of the entire browser window, URL bar included 4. Post the screenshot here Of course, they can post the screenshot in the topic on your forum rather than posting here and we can check it out

Michael...I had this reply from one of our members:
Uninstalled/installed Chrome - made no difference. Did wonder if it was to do with addons (Adblocker) but still does it with the extension on or off. Chrome is now Version 29.0.1547.62 m for info.
Edit (7 minutes later) How odd. After posting the above went to the official signings thread and it was functioning normally again! Will update again later.
Edit 2 Right now know why some multipage threads go to the top of the next page and some are random/chatroom. It all depends where you are on a page when you hit next page. When I did it on the signings thread I was at the top of a page and hitting new page takes you to the top of the next page. If you scroll down a bit and then next page it causes the random/chatroom problem. Hope this helps
Ricky...I'll ask them to do that...
Thanks for your help so far.

Are we getting anywhere with this problem? We're still having reports of problems using Chrome and Firefox.
