Forum URL: soxprospects.proboards.com
I'm not the admin for soxprospects but he asked me to report this since he's unable to reproduce the problem and I'm one of the users (there are several) who experiences it.
Because soxprospects.com has many pages other than the forum, it uses the URL forum.soxprospects.com as "a custom one we use to keep the various URLs that make up the website in full somewhat uniform".
The "Forum" link on soxprospects.com goes to forum.soxprospects.com.
For most users this seems to work fine. (100% feedback is obviously impossible, but we know for sure that it works for some and not for others.) Using that link takes one directly to the forum, remembers who they are, and logs them in.
For others (like me) it does not remember that I'm logged in and instead prompts me for the login. OTOH if I key in the URL soxprospects.proboards.com it immediately recognizes me and logs me in. As a test I then keyed in forum.soxprospects.com and I was brought back to the forum, but not logged in.
I'm running Windows 8 and have tried this with both IE and Chrome with the same result.
Another interesting thing is that I did not have this problem until about a week ago. Prior to that the custom link logged me in fine. What happened in between is that I had an unrelated technical issue with my PC and HP advised me to "Refresh" (I think that was the word) the OS installation. Essentially what they did I think was wipe out my registry and rebuild it from scratch. Since then I've been one of the lucky users with this problem.
Thanks very much for your help.
