And so there you go...Ron is awol, his email doesn't work and we can't get hold of him to fix something.
I know what the violation is now and its a very grey area. There was a sub-forum on our board called "episode discussions". There was an active thread going on where people were exchanging eps of the shows. It was not a DOWNLOAD section. It was simply a thread a few users were utilizing to talk about where they could pick up copies of the show from usendit or what have you. PROBOARDS was not being used for illegal activity and the forum was not promoting anything illegal. Its impossible to keep any user from posting spam, porn, etc.. at any one time. Because our MOD was not able to respond to a possible request to delete this thread, they deleted our forum. Thats all I can think of.
Deleting that thread wouldn't necessarily stop communication among users about where to pick up a copy of an episode. So, this is really nonsense. The forum was not promoting illegal activity and the TOS was not being violated by the Forum. So, you really are doing your users a disservice when you act in this manner.

All of you guys from rs.net, you might want to post on Kim Possible Slash Haven for the moment, until this problem with rs.net gets fixed. Here's the link for KP Slash Haven kpslash.proboards36.com/ . It's a pretty active KP forum. I pray to God that ronstoppable.proboards47.com/ will come back. The ronstoppable forum is my LIFE!

How can copyrighted material magically become uncopyrighted and legal when put on a website. It doesn't even make sense
My previous message was rhetorical by the way. I knew they were illegal, i was not actually asking.

Explain to me how a forum is violating your TOS if a user trades a copyrighted picture with another user. Did the users do something illegal? Perhaps, although I doubt either you or I are experts in copyright law and understand fully the ramifications of such a venture. However, the activities of a member within a board is not grounds for deleting a board. The board itself is not in violiation of the TOS unless it specifically PROMOTES its members to do such. This forum did not promote anything illegal. As such, you are deleting a FORUM when in reality, you should BAN A USER. The USER is violating the TOS, not the FORUM.

You clearly stated yourself there was an area listing episode downloads. This is illegal. The forum is listing said material, therefore the forum gets removed.
It isnt a situation where 2 users of the forum happen to share material in their own time. The forum itself was acting as a list for this material. Therefore, the forum is derectly involved.
Links to illegal download still classify as illegal content. Illegal content is not allowed on the forums. This is clearly stated

It the site to violate some big law why not now and not later. Ron's MB could of been killed months ago if it was for the reason people were talking about

Links to illegal download still classify as illegal content. Illegal content is not allowed on the forums. This is clearly stated No, I didn't say there was an area listing episode downloads. Go back and read it again. On second thought, let me state it again more clearly. There was a section of our borad that said EPISODE DISCUSSION. That is NOT promotion of sharing copyrighted material. It was simply a section where members could discuss various episodes. Period. Within that forum was a THREAD created by a MEMBER who shared an episode with another MEMBER(S). That is NOT the forums fault. That is the members who chose to participate. There was no LINK to download episodes listed in any area of the forum other than within that thread and it was simply put there by members sharing amongst themselves. It was NOT being promoted by the forum or the moderators. Again, you are deleting a board based on the actions of a few members, which is not desribed in the TOS. If a user is violating the TOS, then take action on the user. Let me try a reverse example: Say, we created a forum called KP EPISODES and the description was "WHERE USERS CAN SHARE ILLEGALLY OBTAINED EPISODES OF KIM POSSIBLE". There would be a DOWNLOAD forum where a LOCKED THREAD created by the MOD would list the shows and a place you could download them on dedicated hosted sites. Now that forum should be deleted for a violation of TOS> The forum was created to promote illegal activity and the MOD is fostering the activity. You are trying to lump the ronstoppable forum into the example I gave and its completely unfair and inappropriate to do so. They are 2 completely different forums and to claim otherwise is both illogical and idiotic. Restore our board. If you feel you need to take action on a few users who have chosen to violate proboards TOS, then do such. The forum is legal.

Interesting that you are trying to explain our own rules to me. They are our own rules. We know them better than anyone else.
And just in case i fail to convince you that you are in the wrong, there is a line stating a forum can be deleted for any reason we want. Though this is not the case, you do not actually have a leg to stand on.
All content on the forum must be within the TOS. This needs to be monitored by the main admin or staff, ignorance is not an excuse. Saying "oh the main admin and mods were not around, it was all the members" doesn't work. Say at an extreme case, terrorists were on the forum plotting something. You are saying nothing is wrong because it was the members? That the admin is blameless even though it was their absence which lead to a lack of modding?
You are right, in the initial case, it is down to just the member, however there is an expectancy to the admin/staff of a board to keep it clean of illegal content. In this case, the staff did not keep the forum clean, therefore the admin did not uphold the agreement which the ADMIN agreed to. That agreement stated that the forum and its contents would stay within the TOS. The thread you stated isn't within the TOS, therefore all content was not, therefore the forum violates the TOS.
It is no more simple than that.

Ok, we are clearly not getting anywhere. Since RON is awol, this isn't going to get any better either.
If you are reading this thread and are from the ronstoppable forum, I'm going to create a new forum. The slash forum is really for an alternate view of KP (Kigo, Rogo, etc.) Here is the link to the new forum and I'll start working on getting the forums set up like it was. (with the obvious exception of making sure we don't have anymore ep requests)
