One of my members is using a Mac. Whenever she uses the REPLY box to post a message and adds smilies, she gets this message added at the end of her post:
<input id="mac_address" value="" type="hidden">
It only happens when she is using smilies in her posts. (There are no smilies with Quick Reply).

Hi Craig... Here is the link to one of the threads in which it occurs. It's the 10th post (with the smilies in them), by Penny. She lives in the US and is sleeping right now, so I have to wait until she gets on to ask what browser she is using. By which time I may be in bed. But will come back to you once I know the browser. I can not access the thread. But an admin will be able to check it when they get online. Hopefully you will have obtained that browser at that point too

Ah... I thought that you have access to all boards and threads. I opened it now for guests for you, so you should be able to see it.

That thread is still inaccessible, but staff will be online soon to take a look. And Stinky666 is right, Craig and myself are volunteer moderators here, we aren't employed by ProBoards, so we don't have that access.

Hm, I'd like to find out more about the users browser and see if we could reproduce this in a private browsing scenario as well. This could just be a string dropped in by a malfunctioning or badly written browser extension or add-on.

Hi everyone... I am back now with the answer. Penny is using Firefox.
I have reopened that particular board I pointed at yesterday for guest-viewing. Sorry for the inconvenience. I assumed that all helpers had access to the no-guest viewing boards.
Thanks for looking into this.

Could you have Penny open up a private browsing window in Firefox and see if the same string still appears at the end of one of her posts (with emoticons of course) for her then.

I am so sorry, I was mistaken. I assumed she uses a Mac because it says Mac in that text. She just told me that she is using, in fact an HP Pavilion Windows Ultimate - 64 bit.

My advice and suggestion was given specifically in a manner that assumed that the user could have either! Let me know how it goes.

I am sorry, but what do you mean by "open up a private browsing window"? Non of us are particularly computer savvy, I'm afraid. Also, I don't know when Penny will be back on - we are all many hours apart - but will suggest what you said, once I know what it is. LOL

Oh, now I know what you mean. It's that "InPrivate Browsing" thingy. OK, thank you for the link. I will ask her to do it - hopefully she will know what to do - and then get back to you.
Thank you for all the help so far.
