Removing Individual PM Restrictions

I prevented six members from accessing their private messages. Then I removed it. But, they are still saying that they can not access their messages. I removed the code a couple of days ago and have asked them to refresh their screens and they say that they still can't access them.

What my code looks like now is in bold for those who want to cut to the chase.

This is what I did:
In the thread template, I pasted over $[post.select_options] on line 24 with this:

This is what lines 24-32 look like now:

Then I did this in User Profile:

Pasted over $[send_message_button]
with this:

I've heard nothing from the others. But, there shouldn't be any names there.

Good morning goodkel,

Looks like for those two users you have PMs disabled. To re-enable them, head to their profiles, click on Edit Profile, and then flip over to the Staff Options tab. Toggle "Disable PMs" to "No" and all should be well.

I don't recall doing that. I thought I could only disable individual members by code?

That feature is a disciplinary tool used to prevent unruly users from sending PMs to anyone, goodkel - from the code you provided in your original post, it seems you may have misunderstood and were using a workaround of mine that I came up with for an admin who wanted to prevent users from sending PMs to a single user, so that that one user wouldn't have their inbox barraged by fans.

Sorry for the confusion - I'll see if I can find the post where I outlined that workaround and edit it to be a little more clear about what it does.

Hi;

Just read this and I have a similar issue but without the codes... we have new members in our forum playhayday.boards.net and since the very beginning I cannot go to messages and simply PM them.. I have to go to their post, click on the tool icon and as from there... PM them.

I have tried your suggestion as going into member's profile and check if the PM was inhabilitated but is not the case. Can you please give us a hand?
