Email notifications not working

I have had 2 reports from members who are not receiving email alerts for their notifications. One members reset the settings in her profile, but they are still not working. Is this a known issue?

Hey spiffshine, it looks like our e-mail system is sending them out without a hitch, but I'll do a couple of tests just to make sure. Can you confirm that these members have added [e-mail] to their contacts? Do you yourself notice the same problem?

I just created 2 test accounts on the forum and PMed myself after configuring my notifications to e-mail me if I receive a PM - the e-mail just came in, so we know the system is behaving as it should at least.

Thank you so much for checking! I don't have myself set up to receive notifications via email because my phone would explode. I'll chef with those 2 members to see if they are still experiencing trouble. Thanks!

Actually, I was just reporting back what you told me, and it seems that the issue is still occurring, but only sporadically. Yay! The easy kind of problem to fix!!

For the one member in that thread who would rather not receive notification updates from us, spiffshine, you can advise that each e-mail contains a link that can be used to unsubscribe from them.

I have absolutely no idea why Andy would be receiving updates from us on one Gmail address but not on the other. Has he changed any settings on the email account that isn't getting them? Are the notification emails he IS receiving coming from tstoforum.com/ or was it another forum?

Gmail addresses haven't been the subject of these issues in the past, so that's a bit puzzling.

I haven't changed any of my email settings, no.

No, the only email notifications I've received on that email address have come from another ProBoards site I have set up, not TSTOforum.com. 

The last time I received notifications to that email address was Saturday, and I know another member has said the same thing. So maybe something happened then? Not sure if that helps, but thought it was worth mentioning.

From what I can see, you've got it configured to only e-mail you when someone follows you, you're added to a group or you've been PMed. Have any of those things taken place since last Saturday?

Yeah, I've had quite a few PMs since then, but none of the others.

Can we try something Andy? On the forum, go to your profile, click on Edit Profile, then go to the Notifications tab. Click the checkbox in the E-mail column for when someone Likes one of your posts, then let me know you've done that and I'll log on to my test account, Like one of your posts, and we'll see whether or not that results in an e-mail reaching you.
