Forum URL: weightlosssurgery.proboards.comI could have sworn I saw a plugin for this, but I have searched and searched and can't find it anywhere. What I would like to do is add a Tools board where clicking on thread will take a member directly to a site that provides a useful tool that I can't embed on the board. Like to a BMI calculator, one of those fitness sites that track and calculate the amount of protein and carbs consumed, and a ticker provider. Is there a code or plugin that will allow me to do this? Please don't suggest posting the links. Of course, I can do that, but this is so much more professional and attractive than a post with just a link. Thank you!

The one I saw had "url" in the title. I am trying Thread Linker. Thank you for suggesting it. But, it is not working for me. It keeps changing the link to one that won't work. It also does not automatically redirect. You still have to click on the image. If I have to click on something, isn't there a way to do this with html? This is the correct link: www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/BMI/bmicalc.htmAnd this is what is in my address bar when I click the posted image: http:/// This is the error message I receive: "The address isn't valid The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. Web addresses are usually written like www.example.com/ Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /)." I have confirmed that the link is correct in the plug in. If there was something easier, I would love to have it. Thanks again for your help!

It won't automatically direct you. If that's what you mean, it's against the ToS. Can you explain. how youwant it to redirect?
Also, that's the only plugin that will do what you need, unless you do a template modification, and update it constantly.
Also, the "http:///" is wrong, therr should only be two //. Like so: http://
Try adding the http and remove the www and see f that opens a new tab.

I wanted it to automatically open to the page on nih.gov site with the BMI calculator. I was on another message board, no a Proboards board, that used that feature and it was very convenient. I thought for sure I had seen a plug in or a code for it for Proboards. I was not aware that is is against TOS. Maybe that is why it disappeared. If it has to be clicked anyway, can't I just make a clickable banner to put there and not use the plugin? Thank you for your help! Edited to add: Just tried removing the www on the BMI url and I still get an error message.

The ToS says the redirects can't be forced, so the only way is by having someone click a link and have it done that way, if that makes sense. You can put it has a image, (or add it to the navigation bar, where admin, profile, etc. Are at.) by using HTML. <a href="link here"><img src="image URL here"><\a>[\code]
The above code should work. Add it to your headers or footers and change the URLs. :)

I can imagine how the autoredirect could be abused.
My nav bar is already full.
Isn't there a code that would allow me to post a clickable image in a post?

I removed the images and everything worked including the link to the BMI site I was having trouble with. You click to open the thread and it takes you right to the calculator. It is in an area that is available to guests if anyone wants to check out this plugin in action: weightlosssurgery.proboards.com/board/76/tools
