Each time I or my members open a reply to thread we get Java Update flash on to our screen. We have the latest Java Update installed so have run malwarebytes and tried to remove whatever is causing this to happen. Malwarebytes can't find anything. Can someone help please we are stuck for ideas to remove this problem. Note: it only happens on our forum. Just been informed that one member gets this just by opening the home page.

Are all your members having this problem? I was able to access your site to look around and saw no Java Update pop-up. You might check your browser plug-ins and extensions to see if there's anything you don't recognize.

Are all your members having this problem? I was able to access your site to look around and saw no Java Update pop-up. You might check your browser plug-ins and extensions to see if there's anything you don't recognize. Thanks for getting back to me. Yes all members and it even happens when viewing as guest. I have been playing with this all morning. I login and think it has been cured, then a few minutes later it starts appearing again. One member had a different message saying the forum was unsafe and to click here for more info. He closed his computer down, then tried again a bit later and got the java message. I also run another proboards forum for testing etc and have no problems with that. So can't be computer related. Hope you can help.
Just tried again and managed to open two reply boxes and had no problem. Then opened a third and up comes out of date plugins detected. Update Java etc. Have used Javas uninstall programme and then installed the latest Java software. Still getting the problem.

What browsers are being used? I'm convinced this is malware and not connected to Java in any way. I'll try roaming around on the site some more to see if I can recreate the problem.

I have this issue as well on one particular site (semi-closed to guests). No matter where I go (front page, thread, admin area) I get instantly redirected to a java update site (at this link, do NOT click it: http://www.upgradienk.com/CA/index.php?dv1=10924152&dv2=06143&dv3=CA&dv4=06143-CA&sec_id=qWJ8vBQjIEzEzreUD3KHv3HjvTekD38jf3bRPAObNcCQYk8a7As4Nb%EB%EB&marketing_fid=MTM5Njc5MDI0MS1lMTJkMjZiNTI1MmU2ZGEzYjM1MjRmZTM2NjBkZTEyYw== ) . I have to hit the Esc key to stop it from loading.
I've run Spybot, I've run my anti-virus and I've run Malware Bytes, I've checked everything, not a single change in the last 24 hours on this machine.
If I block ads on my site (temporarily, to check), no issues, no redirect.
I've had a look at my site from another computer on which absolutely nothing has been changed, updated or uploaded (except basic windows update) in several weeks and I still was redirected, so I'm pretty sure one particular ad might be an issue here but seeing as it redirects before the ads are done loading completely, it's hard to report them.

I can't recreate the problem, lumix. I've been all over the board and everything seems fine. I'm using Windows7 with the latest Chrome.

Take a look at this, lumix. This gives instructions for how to remove this critter from your computer. It's sure worth a try and doesn't prompt a download of anything, thankfully!

This problem as quoted above could well be add related. 5 members and myself have this problem. It just cannot be a computer problem, 6 computers don't go wrong simultaneously. Can you disable ads for a short while to see if that stops it.

Just gone back and while the Proboards ad is running there is no problem. There must be a rough ad somewhere.

Did the same. Private Browsing and got the popup for Java. When I click on reply while the Proboards ad is running it lets you in.

If can can use ctrl + atl + r on the keyboard to report the ad and take a screenshot of the offending ad That may help in getting it removed - if can use the report ad method.
The admins should be online later and will check on the issue

The admins should be online later and will check on the issue Steve No can't use that facility as the popup covers the whole page and you can't see which ad was running.
