I have three moderators in my site. I "might" have to change one of them back to just member status for reasons that are not necessary to disclose here. I have the three moderators in as a group. Can someone here please walk me through the process of eliminating one without affecting the other two. I spent some time in Admin Tools and I am confused on how to do this the best and easiest way if and when I need to do it. . Bill Young.

Go to the moderator you want to remove profile page, then modify his profile go down, and you should see what group his in, and change it to member. or whatever you want him to be. This shouldn't effect the other moderators

Besides doing what Halo has said, if you have that moderator added to any of your boards, go to "modify boards" in admin panel select the board the mod is added to and remove there name from there.

Thanks for the speedy reply. That sounds SO easy. When I go to his modify profile page it shows him as moderator beside the Members Group box. In the drop down box there is has only one choice which is "none" . Would changing him to none do the trick to remove him as a moderator yet still retain his membership ? or should I type in "member" for his status. B.Y.

Thanks Snakeair. He is what I beleive is a global moderator ? in that he is moderator of every board same as my other two moderators are . So does the one step of removing moderator status in his profile still apply ? Sorry to sound so computer illiterate (which I am ) but if I have to do this I would not want to disturb the status of my other moderators. B.Y.

Since several of us were typing and posting at approx the same time, I am assuming that a simple change in the members profile as mentioned earlier will satisfy my inquiry. I would like to thank all three members that gave me such quick replies on this. It is much appreciated. B.Y.

To remove a global moderator, administrator, moderator, or any other status, follow the same procedure. Change their group to none, then remove them from all boards they moderate.
