Forum URL: http://.proboards.com
I would like to create a forum and have not yet decided whether I want to use ProBoards or a different service. Please forgive me if this is redundant or inappropriate; I am very new to this and am only creating a forum in response to vehement demands from my fans.
If I choose to go with ProBoards, can I have sections of my board that are for people from other countries? For example, I would like to have a section for my German-speaking fans. I saw something in the terms of service that said English only. Is this a hard and fast rule? If so, why? Can I allow foreign language posts with an upgraded (paid) service? If ProBoards is against foreign language communities, could you point me toward a service that allows them?
Is posting in this forum really the only way to get support? I didn't see any contact information listed on the homepage. Is there email support for a paid account?
Regarding free accounts, will the advertisements be targeted to the content of my board? I am worried that offensive or sexual ads may be associated with my board-- something I have seen on ezboards.
Thank you for taking the time to read my questions.

Proboards is one of the best forum providers around. FACT If I choose to go with ProBoards, can I have sections of my board that are for people from other countries? For example, I would like to have a section for my German-speaking fans. I saw something in the terms of service that said English only. Is this a hard and fast rule? If so, why? Can I allow foreign language posts with an upgraded (paid) service? If ProBoards is against foreign language communities, could you point me toward a service that allows them? Proboards does not allow the posting of content which is in any other language other than English. This allows English staff at Proboards to closely monitor the forums. Yes, using the Support is the only way and the best way to receive help with your forum. The Support forum provides you with Support from official Proboard members of staff who can help you directly with your forum. As Proboards only utilises its services to people who are 13 and over all the content contain in the ads is suitable for this age group. Proboards uses Google ads which sometimes read pages on your forum and display ads according to what they read. If you only have TOS abiding content on your forum then you should be fine. Good luck. Proboards is very highly regarded on the internet for there excellent user friendly message boards and excellent support.

Just a note: you really have nothing to loose (seeing as how it is free). If you don't like the service delete the board and move on. But if you do like it...feel free to stay. -Computerpros

Sorry, but your forum must only contain English language.
Since ProBoards staff do not speak languages fluently other than English (I believe), they cannot keep control of content on your board, for example, your German speaking posters could be posting a lot of offensive material which falls in violation of ProBoards TOS and ProBoards staff won't know about it.
It is doubtful you will find a remotely hosted service like ProBoards that will allow a variety of languages to be spoken on the forum.
You may as well give ProBoards a go, if you don't like it you just delete and move on, it isn't as if you are commiting yourself to paying big sums of money for privately hosted software. ProBoards offers a lot for nothing.
