Forum URL: animationlessons.proboards.comwe often have WWO...who wants one, which is someone is offering a graphic tag to others and they sign a list. The question raised today was if the list is single spaced and is copy and pasted to the quick reply, it comes out still single spaced. but if it is copy pasted to a regular reply it comes out double spaced. I wasn't really aware of this since a usually use the quick reply, but I did a little experiment in this thread animationlessons.proboards.com/thread/27475/figured-out?page=1&scrollTo=411190Posts 5,6,7,8,9 and you will see with the explanations that this really does happen. Is this just the way it is or is there something in my settings for the site that I need to change. Thanks again for all your help

Hi,
Does it paste into the box automatically double spaced, or does it occur after the post has been made? Does the same thing happen on this forum?

OK this is in the regular reply I c/p the single spaced list and then went to the BBCode and it looked like it was single spaced Then I clicked on the preview and it looked like it was the same, single spaced, but lets see what happens when I actually create the post

Line breaks are rendered literally in posts, so if you have all of your list items on different lines in your BBCode they'll render within the post as if you added a <br /> tag after each one.
For this reason the list would require no line breaks in it in order to not be double-spaced.

I just realized your lists aren't using BBCode.
Perhaps the problem lies in where you're copying the list from? Typing the list manually shouldn't present this problem, nor should copying from a location that has no formatting such as from within Notepad.
