how do i enable "new" when a post has been added ?

Look im sorry to ask, i dont want to get into trouble for overlooking something again but i have looked for hours now..

When a new thread or post is added the little "new" sign pops up..

How do i get this on my board, is it a code or in some setting i am missing ?

It will automaticaly come up when there are new posts.
