Here is my forum - erebos.boards.net Here is my reference - missnk.proboards.com/ I really love how the forum border looks, how it almost has that transparent, matte look to it. I have seen several forums like that and I don't know how to do that. I was wondering if anyone could give me a code for it or tell me how to make it. I have photoshop if I needed to use it. Also, I was wondering how they have the category titles above the boards. I love that as well and was wondering if maybe anyone could help me with that as well. Thank you!!!

That's a theme created by MissNK. Here is the thread in which it's discussed. You'll want to contact the theme designer to see if she's willing to share that code with you.

Hey there, Firstly: please keep in mind I've heavily edited my winter-theme, and the following explanation just covers a small bit of it. I will try to explain the essentials to you, but you have to try out some things by yourself to find out how they work exactly. Also, I can't guarantee things will work out the way you want them to be. I am always happy to help, thou' For a (semi-transparant) border around the forum I've used this code. However: I haven't used this on my winter-theme, although I think it might be helpful for you to achieve the look you want. Creating the settings of my winter-theme was a bit more difficult, as I've manually changed most items in the layout. Let's start with the (semi-)transparent backgrounds. I've 'just' changed all the settings to achieve the look I wanted. A more easy way to work around this is by simply adding the following lines to the bottom your style-sheet: .container > .content, .ui-dialog .ui-dialog-content, .ui-dialog .ui-dialog-buttonpane, .container.copy .clone { background: fade(@content_background, 50%) !important; } As for the category titles: firstly, set the title-bar background to transparent, and the text to a color you like ( visual editor > body > containers > title bars). Add this to the bottom of your style-sheet: .container > .title-bar h1, .container > .title-bar h2, .container > .title-bar h3 { position: relative; top: 10px; left: 10px; }
Adjust the top and left pixels as much as you need to achieve the look you want. For the font I've used google-fonts, just insert the link on line 4 of your forum wrapper template ( admin > themes > layout templates > forum wrapper). The first four lines of my theme look like this: <!DOCTYPE HTML> $[tag.html.open] <head> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Tangerine"> If you go back to your style sheet now, you can use the font (Tangerine in my case) for the title-bars. Go to line 412 and add your font: @title_text_font: normal 400 40px Tangerine, Impact, Charcoal, sans-serif; Adjust the pixels-size (40px) as much as needed. You will probably notice the titles of the Legend and Info-center will overlap the box, while the category-titles look fine. I've worked around this by adding the 'title-wrapper'-div to every single item which needed extra padding. For example go to your home-template ( admin > themes > layout templates > home), line 13 should look like this: <div class="title-bar"><h2>Legend</h2></div> Now change that line to: <div class="title-bar"><h2><div class="title_wrapper">Legend</div></h2></div> Now it should look okay. It won't be perfect, but, as it is, perfection takes time. Good luck!

Yay!!! Thank you guys so much!!! I was trying to find a way to get ahold of you, MissNK, but I couldn't figure out how so I ended up posting my question on here. It worked great! And I am still playing around with the forum border, I may end up using it on another proboards site, but I love the font!!! Thank you! Thank you!!!!

I am having some problems with one of the codes now. .container > .title-bar h1, .container > .title-bar h2, .container > .title-bar h3 { position: relative; top: 1px; left: 60px; } I added in sidebars and for some reason whenever I adjust the pixels to the left it moves the text in the sidebar headings as well, which I do not want. I want to move the category text to the center, but I don't want the title bar for my side bars to be moved. If that makes sense. xD I'm not good at explaining this. But if you look at my website you'll see what I'm referring to. erebos.boards.net
