Forum URL: amalgamation.boards.net/Hello, I've been trying like crazy to figure out how to 'install' new fonts on my site using the Google Fonts. I've added the coding it has told me to, where it has told me to, and still I can't seem to get the fonts to show up in the drops downs and be able to be used in the CSS. Can anyone help dumb this down for me please? I am terrible with coding as it is, but even my friend who generally does the majority of my coding can't seem to figure it out! Thank You!

Typically, they won't show up on the drop downs... You will have to manually type them like this: 'font name', name of font in case other font doesn't work

I had thought of that, and even tried typing the name in, and still it didn't work. I'm not quite sure what I'm missing. lol.

hi Cupcake -- First of all, where are you putting the coding? If they are in your headers and footers, you want the "<link href="...">". But if you are putting the code in your actual stylesheet (admin>themes>advanced styles and css>style sheet tab), you want to use the "@import..." option. After you have the right code in one of those two places, you should be able to use the fonts on the forum and in stylesheets. (for reference though, if you put the codes on a stylesheet, you'll only be able to use that font on that stylesheet and the theme attached to it.) As for the dropdowns, I don't frankly know how to get them to show there. I thought that I had them at one point, but I don't remember how I did that... EDIT: OH! and you don't really need to type them in with apostrophes- if you have them in your stylesheet or headers/footers you can just use type them in as: font-family:nameoffont

It works for me if I just link them in the forum wrapper, then include them where I want them. Just saying. LOL

That one takes the "<link href="...">" as well, doesn't it? and the fonts can only be used on the theme connected to the wrapper, Because the coding changes from theme to theme. I always link on the stylesheet, I guess it just kind of keeps them organized in my head. haha

Apparently I only needed to use the @import option! Thank you so much for all of your help!
