Good win for us today (beat Derby 2-0 away). What's been really reassuring in the past few games, especially against strong opposition like Brighton and Derby, is that we can protect a lead and manage the game, keeping it balanced without ending up parking the bus and still looking potent. It's also great to see how well Gouffran's been doing (scored the winner today, was lightening in the last game too). He was often maligned in the Premier League because he's definitely not PL quality, but he's been really great in the Championship - perhaps he's finally found his level in English football. Which is just as well really given that lack of depth on the wings could present a problem this season. Didn't get to see Atsu play but Yedlin grabbed a really well-worked goal in second half stoppage time. Four clean sheets in a row too for Selz who has looked shakey at times. All this is really promising. Hopefully we keep it up for the Villa away game in a couple of weeks and everything in between. Forgot what it feels like to win five games in a row. As an interesting aside, our ref for this game got injured during warm up so the fourth official ended up reffing the match. Then to compoud the problems for the officials the subs/stoppage time board wasn't charged so they apparently had to rush one up in a taxi to replace it. Then at some point during the match the original ref (who was acting as fourth official after his injury) disappeared and the fourth official who'd just done the Mansfield game took over from him. Was a funny one. ed: also just realised Adam Armstrong who we've got on loan to Barnsley came off the bench to score the match winning goal for them on his debut! Would have liked him at Ipswich, since he's dad played for us. Would be interested to know if he was even mentioned as part of the Murphy deal, or if we never even tried to get him. I wouldn't call Derby a strong team, really. They should be, but just aren't. That is one of the most expensively assembled squads the Championship has ever seen [ and more than some prem teams ], but flatters to deceive. Just seems like they keep throwing good money after bad, creating an unsettled side, and a side which has scored only 1 goal? this season. Crazy.

I'm probably falling into the trap of judging them on paper since I'm not that familiar with their current squad, or the squads fo the teams I'm supposedly comparing them against. With the likes of Will Hughes and Thomas Ince, both of whom have been hyped for years, I'd expect them to at least have put up a fight. They seemed to lack finishing ability yesterday. Decent at everything until it actually came to breaking down our back line.

He's one of the answers when they ask which championship player would you like your club to sign. Tom Ince doesn't seem to play. He comes off the bench, but doesn't seem to start. Not when i watch them any way. Seems to have dropped off from his early hype. But, as you say, on paper they should be great, and arguably scoring for fun, but 1 goal this season, in six games, says a lot. I must confess to being a little biased. I have a dislike for Derby, and the money they have spent, so they may not be as bad as i am making out

Massive 6-0 win for us at Loftus Road last night to make it five in the league on the bounce. Five clean sheets in a row now and last night's game opened up the goal difference a treat. Despite Brighton beating Huddersfield we're still not at the top. Things really starting to come together now.

I watched the highlights of that game, and I'm wondering if you guys were amazing or QPR were just terrible...I think it was a mixture of both. Brighton back to winning ways with a fortunate win over the league leaders - a game we had to win or begin to already lose touch with the early-season pacesetters, so to win and keep a clean sheet was a boost. Our next two league games are against two of the newly promoted sides (away to Burton, then home to Barnsley) - both have seemingly started well so they're not guaranteed winners, but they are games a team aiming for promotion should be winning.

From what i have seen thus fair, teams can't break you down, and you are always going to get a goal. Huddersfield were an outside bet for me this season, so good to see them up there, but they will drop away to the playoffs. Ipswich Beat Derby at the iPro. Happy with that, obviously. We didn't play well, apparently, but after being on the wrong end of some poor decisions this season in at least 3 games, will definitely take the luck from this one.

From what I've read and seen it was a little bit of both. Rafa said after the match it should have been at least 10-0 and having seen some of the misses he was definitely right. Might be alright to waste chances like that in a game you're dominating like an exhibition match, but if it was tighter and at 0-0 and came down to being able to finish off a limited number of chances then Rafa is absolutely right, we could have been better. Good win against Derby, Craig. I'm starting to see where you're coming from with the money not translating to results for them.

Good win against Derby, Craig . I'm starting to see where you're coming from with the money not translating to results for them. I'm amazed that with the squad (on paper) and the money they've spent over the past couple of years they've only managed 1 league goal so far. That's abysmal for anyone.

Football has gone to the dogs a little over the years for me. Too much money in the game and the gap between PL sides and Championship sides is only growing. Take Burnley over the last 3/4 seasons for example, they have been dominant in the championship, yet cannot compete in the premier league(financially or otherwise). That said I don't see why the likes of Burnley do need to spend money when they go up, stick with the players that got you promoted, I think it's just a mental thing why they might not perform to the same level in the PL, encourage your players and say, hey look we can play at this level(evidence is in the FA cup). Don't sign players to disrupt the squad. I used to watch alot more of the Championship before the BBC got rid of the Football league show(great show) now I'm lucky to catch 3/4mins of highlights on sky sports news :/ . Red Devil since 1990

Reminds me of the season a few years back when Mark Hughes took over at QPR when they'd been promoted and spent a load on buying players like Bosingwa, Granero, Ceasar, Samba, Park Ji-Sung, Hoillet, Loic Remy and loads of other high-wage players who were pushing retirement and ended up falling flat on their faces.

Red Devil since 1990 Ahhh, another Red Devil like me but since 1972 lol. But it's true what you said, football has gone to the dogs nowadays and too much money involved. You get young 19 or 20-year-old players today who are millionaires and can't think for themselves and get an agent to do their thinking for them, contracts with flash cars and whatnot.

Not a great one for you Man United fans this afternoon. Got beat ourselves by Wolves in what was a thoroughly underwhelming performance off the back of a five game win streak. Hopefully we can topple them in the cup. Some of players looked well and truly apathetic yesterday, a bit like our terrible squad from last season. No doubt Rafa threw a few metaphorical boots after the game

I think Jose should get his priorities right, drop Rooney as he is a waste of space nowadays and drop the lumbering oaf in Fellaini and play Mata and Herrera on a regular basis, plus Pogba should start playing like the £80 mill player he was meant to be.

It kind of feels like your team is a bit incomplete, definitely missing a top playmaker. I'd be surprised if Pogba can carry the midfield on his own, definitely seems like he needs some other top talent there with him to be at his best. Rooney needs to be dropped for sure.
