Well, the number of "Section 25(a) Forum Deletions" had caused me to get confused and scared to the point that I was close to post on an alternate forum provider's support board regarding the experiences, reasons for being nervous here with Proboards, and to see what plugins/extensions/mods/.etc they may provide that could put them on par with here. So have your fears been allayed then? I have thought about this more and I'm still not completely sure as part of my reasoning and concerns is because I have seen a topic not too long ago about a "Users of this website have been reported to the proper authorities" message showing up on a closed forum instead of the normal message which sounded much worse than a forum getting a "Section 25(a) Suspension". It makes me feel I may need to have my forum checked my someone from time to time by someone trustworthy after doing stuff on it to make sure I'm not going to have problems in the future, even though I read through the TOS from time to time to understand what is allowed and what would be considered forbidden. I'm just confused when it comes to stuff I fear may be in a gray area and where I may need to put a copyright disclaimer even though there are fair use provisions.

I'm just confused when it comes to stuff I fear may be in a gray area and where I may need to put a copyright disclaimer even though there are fair use provisions. If it helps at all, I have been using ProBoards -- both as a forum owner and a support regular -- since 2005 and that was the very first time I've ever seen that message in the last 12 years. That should be at least some indication of how infrequent that is.
Also, I wouldn't worry about it. Like, at all. I'm not part of the abuse department but I can surmise that the issue went beyond simply violating the terms of service; a report to the authorities would indicate something beyond a copyright concern, and would likely involve severely illegal activity.

If the forum in question was engaging in illegal activities (such as: DDoSing, swatting, selling illegal drugs, or making threats on peoples' lives, etc.) I can see a message like that appearing. If your forum isn't engaging in such activities I doubt you have anything to worry about. I've never seen that message, either.
