I have a couple of very specific but related questions.
Introduction: As a global moderator I am seeking some guidance on where the line is with nudity with respect to ProBoards ToS and warnings from ProBoards over breaches of ToS. This relates to a gaming forum where there may be two types of potential breach:
Category One - Game related nipples.
The game series central to the forum features occasional CGI nipples (female). Is that going to cause us issues with ProBoards ToS? Moderators routinely remove any occasional uploaded photographic images with female nipples to avoid a warning, but censoring images from the games the forum is about (image below cropped) would be rather strange, as they are non-Restricted mainstream, if Teen/Mature depending on country games. The images are appropriate to the forum (the game does not include genital shots).
I would welcome some feedback, please. The moderators would like to operate a responsible forum and allow appropriate content for the forum, but having a sense of whether this will land us into hot water would be appreciated.
Category Two - Quarantined images
The 7 moderators have access to a moderator only 'quarantine' sub-forum. It is our normal practice to move 'bad posts' into 'quarantine' for moderator discussion. We had a crude gif that we moved into quarantine for discussion and for reference to the poster who had breached our rules. Sitting within our quarantine it was safely out of view from members and guests.
However, we then received a ProBoards warning for the image sitting inside our quarantine. Our reaction was to delete images even inside quarantine as quickly as possible now, but this puts pressure on us as our records of bad posters and our discussions about bans / ban lengths are also compromised.
In short, is there a ProBoards approved way that we can move inappropriate content into a 'quarantine' for discussion (away from members and guests) that does not endanger our forum with potential warnings.
In some 5 months, we've had two ProBoards warnings. One was over a porn image the moderators hadn't spotted and no-one reported (fair enough, we dealt with it immediately). The second warning over a crude gif we had already identified and moved out of circulation seemed a little mean, and I'd like to avoid any recurrence by understanding the rules a little better, please.
Request
Any ProBoards input or feedback from other admins/moderators would be very much appreciated, thank you
