Hello. I am trying to find out why I can not access a board that had information that was very important to me and my family. It was a board about Missing Children. My Cousin was abducted years ago and there was important information that was there. It was a response to by a user that claimed to be her. It was 25missingpersons.proboards.com/thread/99. Is there any way of finding out why I now get a page that says In accordance with Section 25(a) of the ProBoards Terms of Service, this forum has been taken offline? This was VERY important information... Please respond. Thank you!

johnnye1975 ~ I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
However, this is the forum for technical support for ProBoards.
The removal of a board for ToS violations is handled by the abuse department.
The creator/root admin of the forum can contact abuseteam@proboards.com for further information regarding the Terms of Service violation.
Other than that, there is no other options.

Internet Archive has a snapshot of the forum dated April 16, 2013 and that uses the old index.cgi urls so not compatible with the newer thread id you posted as an url but you could try looking manually since you have info such as name, etc. that we don't. Google comes up with a couple snapshots of the forum with differing dates with one mentioning a thread id of 1517 (still using the index.cgi url) which leads me to think that thread id of 99 that you posted would be older than 2013 but after PBv4.5 was released ( ???) since PBv4.0 used timestamps for thread ids. It's not much but give it a look to see if anything pops out and good luck.

Maybe Chris knows how to? I tried and its just snapshots of the home page. I need to be able to click on the homepage link and see articles inside that link. Any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't know how to do that. Can you instruct me on how to? Hello johnnye1975 I'm a bit puzzled about the timing here. From your use of allcaps in part of your thread title and the liberal use of exclamation marks (both highly frowned upon) it looks like this was very urgent at the time. You received answers within a time span of roughly one hour. But here we are nearly two years later and you've finally returned to the thread asking questions about the advice that was given? Be that as it may, here's some information that might help you:Take this link: web.archive.org/web/*/http://25missingpersons.proboards.com/*It will give you a listing of the 512 URLs related to that forum which have been captured by the Wayback Machine on various occasions. The list spans eleven pages. If/when you find a listing of the thread in question, the names are clickable links. Clicking a link will open a calendar and the date(s) the URL was captured will be indicated with a light blue circle. Hovering over the circle will cause a small tooltip to appear with a timestamp. Click the timestamp and the captured page will be displayed.

Didn't mean to disrespect anyone here. That was how I typed my heading 2 years ago to get someone's attention that could possibly help me. Like I stated in my previous reply, It will not let me click on the thread once I filter through the snapshots and find what I am looking for. For example: I found the link here 25missingpersons.proboards.com:80/board/153/ilene-rebecca-scott-images-boardhostI click on it. I go to the light blue dot on the calendar and click on it. It takes me here: I try to click on any subject and it goes back to Wayback Machine (Internet Archive) page as seen here: I need to be able to open a subject and see what that page has on it. I may even have to go further and click a link on that page as well and so on and so forth. But it will not let me.... Am I doing something wrong?

I need to be able to open a subject and see what that page has on it. I may even have to go further and click a link on that page as well and so on and so forth. But it will not let me.... Am I doing something wrong? No, that's just the limitation of the Wayback Machine. The links on those pages aren't meant to be clickable. The only pages captured are the ones on the list provided by the link I provided. If you don't find a listing of the thread you want to see, it was never captured.

So basically what your saying is if the links for the subpages weren't captured I won't be able to see them? If that is the case its only good for pages it decides to capture which is most likely home pages correct? I wonder why this proboard for 25missingpersons was taken down? Who would know or how would I find out? Do you know? Or how would I find out if this the user Brigitta is on proboards somewhere?

So basically what your saying is if the links for the subpages weren't captured I won't be able to see them? Links on any of the pages displayed won't work. If the information you need is in a thread (and I did see a few threads on that list) you'll need to find the listing for the thread and click that, then go through the calendar, etc. I wonder why this proboard for 25missingpersons was taken down? Who would know or how would I find out? To the best of my knowledge, information about the reason a forum was taken down due to TOS violations is held in confidence between the abuse department and the owner of the forum. Or how would I find out if this the user Brigitta is on proboards somewhere? A Google search of the username or display name along with site:proboards.com might lead somewhere, but it may lead to other members who happen to have used the same username or display name but are not the person you're looking for. This link: support.proboards.com/thread/582319/support-board has information regarding the office hours of the ProBoards Admins. Since Monday will be their first day back in the office after the Thanksgiving holiday, it might be a while before they reply to this thread.
