Forum URL: hotlaps-slsailing.boards.net/Google sheet with data: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SW1VDOJ6lQf00IO3zDs78QJZCIzEHrYfYP7qAIiz65U/edit#gid=1449705887Hi All, We run a game in second life where people try to sail laps as fast as possible. These times we store in a google sheet where they can comment if they like. Not too long ago we started a forum too and we would like to move that comments to the forum. Possible solution. we would like to have the sailor click a link that opens making a post on our forum as guest with the information about the lap, boat type, time, sailor name, etc. in the top of the textbox as a quote or something that stands out so the sailor can type their vomments after this info. Would thgis be possible? Been looking left and right and did not find a similar thing on this help forum yet.

Hi, burtartis. Based on the way you've described it it sounds like they're just going to be typing text like you did when you composed this thread here. Are you looking for something like this where the posting page is changed into a form with predefined fields for them to fill out? www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/78

Hi Brian, Thanks for your answer. Did see that plugin but i figured this could only enter "static" text. Will have a look at it. is a link to a new reply like: hotlaps-slsailing.boards.net/post/new/24 always good or does this ID stop working at some point?

The id refers to the thread id, so as long as the thread remains, that link will continue to work. Of course, each thread therefore has it's own link to the reply page.

I don't think shorty frequents the board anymore. It would be best to start a new topic in the headers/footers request board.
What it looks like you are trying to do is for the text added to the url 'some text here' can be inserted in to the posting area? A javascript code should be able to achieve that, but bare in mind that it would only work on the desktop version of the site. Go ahead and post the request in the headers/footers board and hopefully someone can produce the code for you.
