Forum activity privacy settings change?

This is actually an issue with all proboards forums I am part of. See the Help article linked below:

By default, this activity is shared with everyone, but you can adjust who can view your forum activity in your profile privacy settings. To do this, while viewing your profile click the Edit Profile button and you'll be taken to the Edit Profile & Settings page. Once there, click the Privacy tab and you'll find the Activity option toward the bottom of the page.

The Activity section with the privacy options is no longer there. Has this option been removed from Proboards? As I said, this is an issue with multiple boards I'm signed up on.

This option was removed just recently in compliance with upcoming EU law changes.

I can change your activity settings to the maximum privacy setting but once I do the change will be permanent as I'm not permitted to relax any of your privacy settings.

If I previously had the maximum privacy, was that setting removed with the change? If so, can you restore it? Also, do you need links to all the boards I am a member on? Or can you see by my email and make the change globally?

Lastly, this is a question asked by several board members. Will they need to post here to request this? Should they respond to this thread or open new ones?

This change will not have affected your previous settings. If you had the privacy setting at the maximum setting prior to this change it's still at the maximum setting now.

I can make this change to every forum account linked to your global account.

I'd prefer not to make this change for a multitude of users at the moment as I need to hear back from our developers on how previous users' privacy settings are going to be handled now that the setting is no longer on the page.

Not that it matters now after stating that, but just to put it out there: users should always create their own threads on the Support Board even if their issue is the same as one in an existing thread per this board's rules.

I'm pretty sure I already had this set, but can you make the global change just to be sure. Thanks for the help.

Actually, looking through the changes it looks like I can't adjust this setting as the logic has changed.

- Guests cannot view profiles so they can't see activity
- Staff are always able to see activity
- Users can see activity as long as you don't have them blocked

OK, so this basically cannot be adjusted anymore? unblocked users can always see other users' activity?

That's correct, though this doesn't really affect anything as you could find the same information from the Activity tab through the recent posts/threads links on a user's profile page.
