Forum URL: boomweb.boards.netI have a forum site for my computer help community. I would like to make a board which is within my main category and which redirects to another page on my site. I am not sure how I would be able to do this or if this would be possible so I wanted to ask it on this forum. I tried experimenting. I want to set my site to where when a user goes the Category titled "Boomwebsearch Technology Videos Embedded View Page" it sends them to boomweb.boards.net/board/10/folder-containing-embedded-content-uploads

Hello boomwebsearch, You can create a board that redirects users when clicked by going into your admin panel > structure > categories & board. From there, click on the "Create New Board" button. After selecting which category and naming the board, go to the settings tab. You will see a field labeled "Redirect URL". You can fill the field with your desired URL. Click "Create Board" once you are finished.

@kelvin I created a redirect which works when I am signed in with my admin account although as a guest user when I an signed out is shows that there was an error and that I do not have permission to access the board.

boomwebsearch, if I may ask, why are you redirecting to a sub-board of the redirect board?

boomwebsearch , if I may ask, why are you redirecting to a sub-board of the redirect board? Hi Scott, I am new to ProBoards and don't have much experience with using the platform, I wanted basically when a user selects the board it sends them directly to a sub-board containing the actual content because in the future I would like to have the option to remove the direct redirection in the future if I wanted to add additional announcement thread/s on the board and have the user first have the subboard with actual content on top displayed as a subboard and then for the user to be able to see announcements as threads created at the bottom of the page. The issue I am having is that it keeps saying that there is no access and that there was an error when I am not signed in with my admin account. I have set the permissions to allow viewing and access for all although for some unknown reason that is not happening as it shows an error screen. Any advice or feedback pertaining to solving this issue would be appreciated. -thanks, boomwebsearch

In a more summarized idea of the reason that I want to have the board redirect to a subboard within the board is to make it so that I am able to remove the redirect and add an announcement thread/s and have the redirect there for now since there are already no posts added as a thread announcement to the board at the moment or likely for the next few months.

Hi,
This looks like a bug to me. The purpose of a redirect board is to redirect the user off the forum, generally speaking.
You have announcements and stickies to ensure those things are visible at the top of a board always. You can always move a board "deeper" once you make the decision to expand later, if necessary, you won't lose any content in the process.
Edit: Bug added to our task tracker to be looked into!
