Bleh, these get frustrating to deal with

Hi maglit

I can appreciate the frustration as they would annoy me too, as i know they annoy the ProBoards staff members.

Any ad which redirects should be automatically reported, and in the process of being reviewed and removed from the system if necessary. In the meantime, unfortunately all i can do is apologise for the inconvenience, and ensure that this nuisance for you is removed as soon as possible.

How do you report an ad that redirects you away as soon as the page loads before you can report it? Even on the off chance I beat it, by the time I select it it redirects me anyway.

You don’t need to report those incidents. Redirects are automatically detected and become subject for review by PB.

As with any other infringing ads, it can take a bit of time for the bad seed to be definitively identified. It takes multiple reports to determine which ad is the culprit, and multiple ads can end up redirecting to the same site if the advertiser runs multiple campaigns to evade detection.
