Forum URL: version2ptzeroindy.freeforums.net/Several members of our forum have had an issue multiple times with posts disappearing. They have written posts, hit "post", been able to see that it shows up correctly on the forum, only to go back later in the day to find their posts have disappeared. Could any kind of setting be causing this?

Could any kind of setting be causing this? Without being able to see your forum, my first guess would be that a staff member is deleting or moving the posts. They could also be deleting their own posts.

If nothing shows up in the security log, would you be able to provide the username/userid of the member having this problem

If nothing shows up in the security log, would you be able to provide the username/userid of the member having this problem I don't see anything unusual in the security log. One member, username krmujn, has had several posts "disappear" over the last month or so. She generally posts early in the morning, between 5 and 7am. She most recently lost a post yesterday. I have only had one "disappear" on me. Could be that I was in a hurry & just didn't hit to post. My username is supermomma4. One other member, username grobiefan2005, has also had this happen one time. Thank you for checking this out for us!

Hi,
The next time this occurs, let us know who made the post and in what thread it can be found. Have you tried posting in the thread after the supposed post was made? Did the post then appear?

Hi, The next time this occurs, let us know who made the post and in what thread it can be found. Have you tried posting in the thread after the supposed post was made? Did the post then appear? Under General Discusssion in the "Welcome to the INDY Livingroom" thread. I post in that thread every day and have only had it happen to me once. I very well might have just not hit to post that time. My username is supermomma4. We have one other member that has only had it happen one time, her username is: grobiefan2005. The member that has had this happen the most is username: krmujn. She also posts in the same thread every day. I will have her contact me if it happens with her posts so I can let you know.

I wonder if members occasionally hit “Reply” at the top right and then navigate away from the page thinking they’ve posted, rather than “Post Quick Reply”?
I know I’ve done this myself a couple time and wondered later where my post went.

Disclaimer: The following information is about a minor issue mentioned, not the core issue of posts disappearing.I have only had one "disappear" on me. Could be that I was in a hurry & just didn't hit to post.Hi supermomma4 It's possible to prevent loss of the typing involved when constructing a post and inadvertently navigating away from the posting page. You can do this by enabling drafts in your profile settings. Click the Profile link in the Navigation Bar. Click the Edit Profile button. Click the Settings tab. Click the radio button for Yes in the section Enable DraftsClick the Save Account Settings button at the bottom of the page. If you forget to hit the Create Post button, when you navigate back to the thread (before replying to another thread on the forum) and hit the reply button you'll get a dialog popup which will allow you to restore most, if not all, of the content you had typed.
