I always lay back in my chair, sometimes I fall off, but most of the time, I think about why time even exists. Then I fall off. lol

Thank you. Welcomeness to the extreme! I like how you put it as how we made tools to measure it though, that explained alot. -.^ It's very interesting to think about. When I think about it it makes my head hurt... I have questions like, "if time if indefinite, when did it START?" because there is a beginning to all things right? There HAS to be a start, or it can't be going at all. There wasn't necessarily a beginning to all things though. We just think that because we are Earth bound humans, and everything we have ever known has a beginning and an end. Beyond that though, there are theories that time itself is the 4th dimension of the universe, a dimension in which we live. Some think time was created with the big bang. Some think time fails to exist in other dimensions. Some think time flows in a warped way unimaginable to out human minds outside the boundaries of what we call our universe. That's all another discussion, all I know is time is very real, not a construct of our minds. This can be proved by the Theory of Relativity which I gave as an example above. This can also be virtually proved through the theory of Black Holes - the gravity of a Black Hole is so strong, it can not only pull light into it, but warp times as well. If I were to be sucked into one, and you were outside of the event horizon at a safe distance watching, it would take all of a nano second to suck me in, but you may be able to sit there for years and watch me being pulled into it, as time is relative. Thus time is real.

O.o Okay... yeah, I understnand what you mean.
However, to go a little off topic, if there was a big bang, and the universe is continually expanding, whats on the other side of it? 0.o Nevermind lol...
I am used to there being a beginning to everything, I just can't grasp the fact that time is there, but just never started.

If you're used to there being a beggining to everything, then there is always the other side, called "the end" but the weird thing is, I dont think there was ever a beggining, as to the other side, there wont ever be an end. So...how was this all created? Was this planet just made where it lies now? or...was it already there? Scary huh. Whoops, I fell. SEE!? I TOLD YOU! DONT MAKE ME THINK! lol

I am used to there being a beginning to everything, I just can't grasp the fact that time is there, but just never started. According to scientists, the universe is 165 billion lightyears wide. SourceThat's where it gets tricky though. I believe the universe is infinite, and what we call the universe is really the matter from our big bang, or whatever - our galaxies, nebula's, ect. Perhaps outside of our universe of matter, there is 999999999 9 lightyears of empty space before the next cluster of matter that some beings there consider to be the universe. I do not understand how our universe has a boundary, or how there was nothing before it. What is nothing? I just can't comprehend that idea of nothing. Some think the universe has a sphere shape, and if you go in one direction while a person is going in a parallel direction behind you, the two would eventually meet. However that still has boundaries placed in the universe. Therefore the most logical belief to me is the universe is infinite, because forever is possible on a cosmic scale. I believe it has always been here, and always will be here. How and why? That I do not know. That is a question I will never be able to answer.

I thought space was a sphere shape too, but I don't know what to say would be on the other side. Space is already pretty much nothing so what could it be if its not infinite?

It'd make you wonder what would it look like, and if its just another big ball we live inside, in orbit with something BIGGER... or it will make you go crazy and die...

They use math like Matt Damon was using in 'Good Will Hunting' - Einstein genius stuff, that only other genius' could understand. I think they called it simply non existence. The universe was created and is expanding, but nothing exists outside it because time, energy, matter, and space hasn't reached it yet. I don't know, like I said it is beyond me and I cannot comprehend nothing. Infinity is a hard concept to grasp too, but much easier for me to grasp then 'nothing'.

This is something to definitely think about in spare time. Hopefully humans get the chance to see what is on the other side of infinity. Heh, you know what, I'm making that my official quote now.

I've been interested in this stuff since I was a child. It's absolutely fascinating, because it is real, and it is out there. However, for everything I know, and understand, there are probably 50 things I do not know, and do not understand, lol. Which I'm about to do without you pitching in.
