Waaaait, you mean since we removed all the immoral things like stonings, and women being inferior and such like that, that the world has become a worse place ? That's not arguable at all. *cough* Where does it say that women are inferior to men? In addition do you know how hard it was for a stoning to actually occur. You had to have two wittnesses to the crime who were standing where they both could see the action and each other, they had to warn the person before that actual action that if you do this it is a sin against god and you will be stoned, and the guy had to do it anyways. It very very very rarely if ever happened. That doesn't seem to "immoral".

Killing someone because they killed another?

I think that the Bible is a good book with good ideals, but you can't force people to follow it, if it has increased crime since less have been following it then thats a shame, but theres nothing you can really do.

I am not for forcing people to follow it in most cases, that is the whole idea of free will. But when my free will is impairing the free will of others greatly then some sort of action should be placed on such a person.

That is why i think some parts of the bible were mans doing .Not gods think about it god gave man free will. The freedom to choose his own course in life. The freedom to do as he wills.Slavery which man condoned back then goes against that to the highest degree.Owning another person takes away his freedom of choice. His free will .He has to do what you say or else. The law of man condoned this.I do not think gods law did. This i will never think .

If the bible didn't exist, short people wouldn't be able to reach on top shelves.

If you knew what it took to become a slave or how a slave was treated or anything about the slavery that the bible talks about I think you may have a different opinion. A slave went into slavery completely under his free will, for his betterment and was released after a set period of time. If the masters house had only one pillow the slave got it. You can't compare the idea of slavery that we have now to a slavery of the bible. There is a vast amount about the laws in the bible that most people don't know. They see that it says something but don't understand the parameters of the laws, mostly because that falls in to the category of the oral law that accompanied the written law.
