Very irritating, I run a large forum, and whenever I delete spam posts or redundant threads the users who made the posts retain their original post count, I cannot see any features accessible to alter this... how do I make the post score decrease with every deleted post? Also... the 'view last posts' feature totally freezes up if you have a considerable post score (over 1000 at least), so I have no way of checking if I still have an accurate score or if I have deleted more posts than I removed from my score. Can you help me with any of this? It makes deleting posts far more grueling if you have to alter each member's profile every time Thanks for listening The Founder

No way to alter that except to edit the members post count in there profile. Yes it's time consuming. But when the suggestions board reopens in the future. (i don't know when) suggest that feature.

It has to do with boards where your post count doesn't increase and the fact not everyone wants the to happen automaticlly.
I liked it the old way...

Me too... I can see no reasoning for it to be this way and unchangeable. Maybe a few minorities like it but I can't see the majority endorsing this feature.

Not sure what to do about your post count issue, but perhaps I can help with the freezing issue. What's happening is you have too many posts to load on one page. Try setting how many posts you want to view to a lower number. I think it can be done in the profiles menu. If not that, then the admin menu does have something to help with that too.

It should be an option to have it go up or down with posting or deletion.

Here's my thoughts as to why they changed it. Over the years, this forum has had a TON of members and posts. Once a board had a huge number of posts, it put a little extra strain on loading. So, the admins would close and hide the board and make a new one that most members never even noticed the change, but the new one had far less clutter. The admins had to hide the old boards as deleting them would have decreased postcounts very substantially, which would have created a lot of bad feelings among the long standing members. So, to avoid that, I think they made it in the newest version to not decrease post count with post deletions. I think it should be an option to toggle on and off, but until the Suggestions Board is open, that's all it will be. So, no real answer or solution for you, unfortunately, but hopefully that explanation will help understand why they changed it.

**nods** well it sucks, as for the freezing thing, I could search for a smaller number, but the problem is I need that feature to make sure my post count is accurate to my actual number of existing posts, so by doing that search and seeing how many come up I can change my post score to compensate for any differences between the two. If there is a recount posts feature I sure would like to know where it is, cos I have no clue if my post count is accurate... I dunno, I'm wierd like that, I like things to be accurate lol The Founder
