Why am I banned from a forum?

Why am I banned from a forum? I've never been banned before so I don't even know who to ask about it, and what I did! I've been on and off the board all day. An hour ago I'm informed I'm banned.

What do I do?! I don't even know WHY! Nobody's told me!

if it is a proboards other than this one, than they can ban your for whatever they want.

if you areon AOL, then log out and log in again.

If your are banned there is nothing proboards staff can do for you. Might i ask are you on AOL by any chance?

I've been one one forum since it started, it's like a little club of the same group of people. The person who started it knows me. I had no problem at all all day, and suddenly an hour ago when I visited it, I'm informed I'm banned from the forum.

Who am I supposed to write to to ask about it?

try checking the contact information for a staff member, or try going on another computer and making a post in the guest board (if there is one)

I would probably write to the main admin. Ask someone you know for his e-mail address. Then tell him what's up and he'll try and fix it.

The initial problem might be that you have the same IP address as someone else who was banned and you happened to be banned as well. Of course, that is just a theory.

Well I've never posted anything abusive or anything like that. I can swear on that!

And this is my problem, I don't know how to get in touch with who I'm supposed to get in touch with, I can't get in touch with anyone from the forum to ask and I don't know who the main Admin IS! Shouldn't think anyone I know does either - if I could even get in touch with them ,which I can't cos I don't have any e-mail addresses and I can't send PM's cos I'm banned from the forum!

I will log on to that forum and try to get the e-mail address from the Admin for you.

If you had to login before you found out you were banned, then I advise staying away from that board, as your return would constitute ban evasion, and service providers consider that abuse of service and you could lose your internet access.

If you just get that screen when you go to a site, and you didn't log in, then chances are you've run into a banned IP.

In either case, don't go on a board you've gotten a ban error from until you make sure that you weren't the specific one that got banned.
