Delicate Question about Death of an Admin

Our site is a poetry site.

One of our administrators, not the main one, passed away suddenly in May, while on the way to visit the main admin in England. We do not want to delete her as her poetry is exemplary. We keep her listed as an Admin with her birth/death dates under her name, as a sign of respect for a founding member of our board.

Is there some way we can exclude her from all the pms when a mass pm is sent out? And how do we go in there and remove the hundreds of pms from her box?

Also, it would be nice if her husband did not have to receive the emails from us.

Can you help us out with this? She was a close personal friend to several people on the site who knew her in real life and we want to do the right thing.

annie, admin (not the main one either)

only way to delete that members pm'S is to login to the account. So change the password to something you know and also change there email address to yours. If you do change the email address, a new activation email will be sent to the address you enter.

Just keep the email address hidden in that admin's profile so no members know what it is, since it'll be yours now. I'm pretty sure that would exclude that member from getting emails from your board. Let's wait for a staff member to confirm this.

Ok. I did forget to mention that she passed just before our site was activated. Does this make a difference. I am not the main admin but can into everywhere, as three of us take care of everything.

Richie is the main admin, two of us do all the tech stuff for him as he just does not know how. We have the passwords. btw thanks

So can you do what i have suggested? If not, best thing to do is wait for a admin to see this thread and see what can be done. I'm trying to think of something else to help you out right now.

Might be something to think about for the next update.....how to for instance keep the first page of her profile hidden from members....things like that that can be programmed in. Out of respect we dont want to delete her as she loved the site so much.

I understand what you are saying, just that right now i can't think of anything that will help you out. Other than what i already said. Keep checking back in this thread for any replies from staff about this issue. It's late out so i dunno when a admin will be online but you'll get a reply by the morning.

Just thought of something else. Is there anything we can do to stop her birthday from changing. It seems kind of macabre. Perhaps admin here can do something to remove her birthdate from the profile.

Removing the birthdate is not possible I'm afraid. Snakeair gave you the best advice I can think of here to resolve the other problems you mentioned
