Forum URL: marthamatthews.proboards.comHi all: I am new to this forum so please be patient with me. I have had several complaints about the Gay Cruise ad. My forum is for Christian homemakers so I know the ad is not generated because of words in my forum. It is not a topic of discussion. If I understand things correctly my options are: 1. ignore it 2. pay for ad removal 3. delete my forum I guess I will have to choose option 3 because I don't have the money to pay for ad removal I feel like Proboards allowed this ad so that it would force forum owners to pay for ad removal. Maybe I am wrong, but that's how it looks. Martha

I feel like Proboards allowed this ad so that it would force forum owners to pay for ad removal. Maybe I am wrong, but that's how it looks. PB allows the ad because it isn't offensive, illegal, or against the TOS. If I ran a forum for gay people, and decided I didn't like Christian ads appearing, would you expect Pat to remove all Christian ads from ProBoards as well?

The thread was locked due to needless arguing and non supportive posts from members
Google provide the ads, not proboards.
Google ads must be suitable for all as defined by the law, and googles TOS, this covers things such as sex, pornography etc, not one's dislike for homosexuals.
Ads on proboards (and infact all content) must be suitable for those aged 13 and over. The word gay, and gay people are not unsuitable for those over the age of 13. Programmes are aired throughout the day on TV which have gay characters. If it was a subject which wasnt suitable for all, then gay characters would not be allowed.
Every ad out there is offensive to someone, its impossible to please everyone, so the only rules which there are, is that ads must be suitable for those over 13.

Thank you for you response. If there is nothing that can be done short of paying to remove the ad, I will be looking for another service. Martha

You could try emailing google. There is an email link on the bottom right corner of the ads on top. Try that, I did.

Sorry but this is turning into another useless Debate, pay for ad free if you don't like the ad case close, a Mod should lock this!
