That is typical of SKY. Never their fault; always someone else to blame for it. They buggered up a bil a while back, charging me for a film I never ordered. Argued the toss for weeks before I managed to provide proof that I was away and therefore couldn't have ordered the film. Gave me £50 credit; and no apology for accusing me of lying. Coming up for 3 years having SKY BB and am seriously considering changing. Virgin Media seems good; but their CS are even worse than SKY from what I've read.

I cannot see that it is a Sky problem. I have many members that are users of other ISPs who are unable to access my forum.

I did want to point that out too. I have twelve guys on BT who aren't able to access my forum or a few others I've thrown at them, to test.

As things were working perfectly OK prior to yesterday, if Sky had done anything to block access surely they would know about it. It does not make any sense that Sky are the cause. There must be an inherent fault on the ProBoards server that clearly is proving difficult to locate.

To be fair, most ISP support teams I've spoken to are this way: the problem is always with YOU, they will never admit fault. If you're looking to move, I can recommend Be*. I've been with them for almost two years now, and they have fast speeds and good prices. Had a few problems when I moved house (again they tried to weasel their way out of the blame but I've grown wise over the years!) but other than that, smooth sailing! Stay away from Tiscali at all costs, though. Terrible speeds, awful customer service, random bottlenecking...yick.

See I'm with Sky but it's through a BT connection as I'm out of range for SKY. So it could be partially BT as well. Trying to get a hold of our members to ask them what their service providers are. So far all I know is that Virgin works!

I am not a fan of Sky but am still not convinced that this is their problem. All those people contemplating a change of ISP and all the hassle that goes with it should hold fire for a while. If the problem was Sky why then can people using other ISPs (such as BT) not access Proboards forums?

As far as I'm aware, don't you need a BT line with Sky Broadband? I'm currently a work using BT as an ISP and can't access my forum, but at home using Virgin/NTL I've had no problems, as have friends who use Virgin/NTL.

If the problem was Sky why then can people using other ISPs (such as BT) not access Proboards forums? I'm inclined to agree but from speaking to Patrick and Martyn on the phone earlier it really did sound like they had exhausted every avenue of probable issues. Martyn even went as far as to drop every firewall to see if that would give access to forums but to no avail. I'm not expert, by any stretch, but by just listening to them it was quite clear to me that whoever has done this has created a tough issue to solve.

From my point of view, the problem is exactly the same as yesterday. I came online at noon (UK time), was able to access my site for around ten minutes and then it went down.

You don't NEED a BT line, sky can install their own line and you can pay them line rental, but most SKy users do use a BT line as it's easier! I'm even on a BT connection though - it's Sky Broadband Connect, as I'm outwith the normal range for Sky.

Ditto to the above: our Forum is out once again. I would love to help strangle whomever is launching these "attacks!" $%#^@ !!!! Addendum: I assume in Upstate NY, we're not using "SKY?" (I don't know much about this, so pardon my ignorance). I DID get to the Forum, but it is really running like molasses in the winter. Takes forever to load, etc. wharfinexile.proboards.com/index.cgi?Thanks in advance for continued efforts on this.
