I called SKY twice and first time they flatly denied that it was them, that ProBoards hadn't been talking to them at all and that it was my fault for doing something. I lost my temper swore and hung up. Called 45 mins later and was told the same thing by a different person and when I pushed it I was told if I didn't like it to move to another ISP.
So I have emailed their Head of Customer Services about the problem and also about the attitude of the CS Agents @ SKY.

I called sky this morning and after speaking to them for 20 minutes she did actually hang up to save my phonebill (thank goodness!!) and called back. I've had a further 3 phonecalls from them after that.... but still no use. They've tried changing my settings and having me reboot this that and the next thing and have tried to tell me that the link isnt working (which I told them it obviously IS as i had it up and running on my phone at the same time, with vodafone contract) and they said they pretty much have no idea what the problem is but will keep me updated if they make any progress. Not so bad for me as I can at least get on with my phone but can't do much that way and there's a lot of members of the site that don't have alternate access. The sad thing is, we migrated just over a year ago from setbb because they had such bad server problems... hoping we don't have to move again!!!

SKY CS always seem so patronising in these situations and assume it's the fault of the user's connection/settings. I've had the unpleasant experience of calling them twice in the last few weeks. Last time, as soon as I got through I asked if there was a problem with our local exchange as my broadband had lost its connection for over an hour.....it was straight into "have you got filters plugged into all your telephone sockets?"..."have you got your router plugged into the main phone socket of the house?"...how many screws have you got on your main phone socket?"...etc...etc After 15 mins of this..."Ah, yes, there's a problem at your local exchange and a SKY engineer is there fixing it"... sorry for the chat...but be prepared

Isn't all this Sky talk a bit of a smokescreen as there are a lot of people with different ISPs complaining as well?

Isn't all this Sky talk a bit of a smokescreen as there are a lot of people with different ISPs complaining as well? I was just posting to say that SKY effectively called ProBoards staff liars. But I am hopeful of getting something sorted with them. If needs be I'll threaten them with press exposure for not fulfilling their obligation to provide us with a working Internet connection.

However, support.proboards.com has been accessible throughout and the tracert is here:I hope that helps, it's starting to get annoying now. It isn't just the Proboards20 server, by the way. I think we can see where the problem is occurring, but not necessarily why. Oh, I did turn off my firewall (Kaspersky) when doing all the tests, it made no difference Dave

Hi, obviously all SKY customers have been having issues with the Boards, I glad it's not just my machine! UK SKY boosh.proboards.com/I may be very stupid in saying this but why, if none of us can get onto our preferred forums, can we access the support boards?

I have sky as my ISP and i called them twice as have been unable to access forums for 2 days. The first guy suggested in a patronising manner i contact each of the pro-boards myself to get them to report the problem. I spoke to someone else who said sky have shut down access to pro-boards as their IT team were finding very bad virus's over past 2 weeks that basically eat into hard drives- bit scary. He said they are trying to solve problem and was shut down for our safety. Yeah thanks for letting us know though. He said if they couldn't resolve it it would be down to each subscriber to ask for it to be re-activated at their own risk and basically if we got the virus sky would shut down our entire internet access. Im not great with the techy stuff but seemed a little bullying to me.
