I was wondering if someone can tell me how to place a banner on my site.

One of my board members was kind enough to make a beautiful banner for our site.

Can someone pls tell me how to put it up?

Real simple go to your admin panel.

admin--skins/forum colors--modify skin--select your skin proceed to next page. Put the URL to your banner in the "logo URL" box.

Make sure you host that image with your own host.

When you say host that image with your own host, do you mean uploading the image to a place like Image Shack or Photo bucket? And then I just place in the URL to Image Shack or PhotoBucket?

Ok, I need a little more help now.

My board member gave me the URL to the image on Photobucket.

So I did as you said, and entered the URL for that image in the Logo URL area.

After I entered the URL, I hit the "Modify Skin" button and got the following error message:

Modify Skin Error
The following errors were found:

One or more of the colors entered had errors. All colors must be entered in proper hex format. If you need help with the colors, you can click the button next to each form field to have a diagram of some colors you can choose from. Make sure that all form entries that require colors are filled out (none may be blank).


I don't understand what the problem is. I just entered the URL for the image, and got the above error message. Any ideas?

Go back to your skins/forum colors page and make sure you have the 6 digit hex color code in all the box's. Make sure there are no spaces before or after the numbers.

Don't leave any box's blank.

Ok, thanks. I have everything filled in except for the following:

Background Image URL

Category Background Color

Board Highlight Color

Thread Highlight

Everything else is filled in...

Ok, did you try to add your Banner URL in again after making those changes?

I did what you said and filled in the blank spots...and hit "modify skin." But it did not change anything. The areas that I filled in, are blank again, even though I filled them in and hit modify skin.

That's a bit strange.

Did you put your banner URL in before you saved your color changes? Like make the color changes first and save changes. (i'm hoping you didn't do that already) Then go back and add the URL again.

I went it and choose some colors for the blank spots. Then I hit "modify skin." I figured after I filled those blank spots in, I would go back and add the URL for the banner. When I did that, it showed that the spots that I had just filled out with hex colors, were blank again.

I'm out of idea's to what is causing your changes not to save. I have to be missing something.

Wait for a admin to reply or another member who knows what is causing your changes not to save.
