39 Pages of a Thread Just Disappearedd

There are threads in other Forums that are 71 pages long. We were at page 70. 40 pages disappeared and I was posting on page 30 of the thread. We lost over 500 posts. I haven't seen this problem posted here.

Well, first off, I can't even SEE the site without registering, so that might cause some problems for the admin..... Just thought I'd let you know!

Like mentioned earlier we can't see what board you talking about cause guests must login is set to YES in general settings.

Anyways did you try a "fix a board" yet for that board?

as a member of that board myself..it appears either the main admin or one of the other mods besides yourself deleted those pages, whatever happened will appear in the main admin's sercurity log since one of the other G-mods there already tried "fix a board" without any results.. therefor it is only logical that this is what took place.

That isn't what happened, I am sure. All the Admins logged on at the time were having a blast posting on the thread. Only the board owner can view the security log. And, the owner hasn't been logged on to see our message about it.

I had something similar happen to me. Unfortunately, when threads get longer than 500 replies, things like this can happen with them. Here's what I was told:

I'm the main admin, nothing in the security log other than the usual modifying posts and a few deleting of posts, but no pages of threads deleted or deletions from a specific date. I'm not opening up the board to guests due to some psycho stalking one of my members and posting personal information on other boards. There's nothing to see anyway other than a thread that's 34 pages long when it should be 70 pages. I think that SiriuslyLupin is on to something, since it happened to her and Craig replied about it. We'll just take the loss and be more careful to shut down threads before they hit 500 posts. Thanks for the help!
