Forum URL: midnight194.proboards6.comWith the file attachments I assume that hotlinking is disabled, and, if so, it is rightfully done. I'll still ask this question though, is hotlinking disabled? If so, where is it enabled? If I attach an image in a post, can I safely use that image in a template, avatar, whatever on my board without being endangered by that evil little red 'X'?

I dont know for sure, id have to check with pat, i know the original intension was to allow the images to be accessed from the PB domain, thefore allowing it to be used for things such as skins, and why 100kb would be enough just for that

Martyn, just wondering if you ever checked up with Pat on this.
I did notice that if you use "Copy Shortcut" on the link that allows you download the attachment and copy that into IE's URL bar, you recieve a nasty little error ("Your request came from an invalid location. Please hit back on your web browser.").

Sorry to be a pain, but I just thought I'd check up on this again. Martyn, any news? I've also noticed that the link that allows users to download the attachment isn't a direct link (i.e. proboards.com/images/myFile.txt), instead it seems to link to a server-side executable. Take Mart's second post in this topic as an example.

It shouldnt allow you to hotlink in anyway, should only let it be accessed fromwithin the PB forum
