"Oh, wow! So much food!" Adam said as his eyes lit up. He turned to his fellow chef. "Isn't it beautiful?! Do you want to cook something together? Perhaps you can teach me a new technique or two, Ms. Maven."

After the group assembled, Adam announced, "I will search nearby today in hopes of finding a medkit to cure any infected."

He turned to Crow and said, "Perhaps we should go together, safety in numbers, as Derek said."

Anybody else going with me? Since there's safety in numbers, perhaps two others? Maybe Pepper, since you have the car?

Wildmaven smiled at Adam as he exclaimed over all of the food. Together, the two of them came up with a veritable feast using non-perishable items. The menu was rather eclectic, but it was all hot from the grill and all nutritious. Wildmaven even made several bowls of popcorn for the ragtag group of survivors. "Eat well," she said. "Who knows what tomorrow will bring."

Day 10 Recap

The survivors got an early start. Pepper, Kim, and Derek decided to try and find Alex. They took Pepper's car and headed back towards the mall.

The other survivors attempted to find anything that could help the group. Wildmaven found a pistol in the managers office. Not everyone else was as lucky.

The rescue party slowly rolled down the hill. They saw no sign of Alex anywhere. Eventually they reached the mall. They carefully got out making sure there were no zombies around. They made there way inside. "Allleeeexxx!!!" His name echoed through the empty mall. They searched floor by floor.

Eventually they came to a bathroom. As they passed by they heard a noise from inside. All three stopped. Kim had her gun ready. The trio slowly made their way inside. "Hello?" Kim said. No response.

Mirrors lined one wall with sinks, stalls the other. They noticed a pair of feet sticking out from under the door of the third stall, as if someone were on their knees facing the toilet. "Alex? Is that you?" Kim slowly walked forward. The legs moved. Suddenly a coughing started coming from in the stall.

Kim pushed in the door with her foot. It looked like Alex was hugging the toilet, she could see vomit splashed around the edges. She lowered her gun. "Alex we're so glad you're okay." Alex's head jerked backwards at an unnatural angle, his eyes glazed over white. A long low moan escaped his lips. He jerked backwards but then fell forward onto the toilet. Somehow is hands were bound. He began to flail around like a dying fish. The three watched in horror. Alex had become a zombie.

They were debating what to do when suddenly they heard a poping noise followed by what sounded like wet paper tearing. Alex slowly wiggled his way free of the toilet, his left hand falling off in the progress. He turned and rose to his feet and began to approach the trio. Kim screamed, raised the gun and closed her eyes.

BANG! One bullet. Alex's body lay still on the floor. Derek noticed the handcuffs hanging from his right wrist. Had Alex known he was going to turn and handcuffed himself to the toilet to protect the group, or had someone else done it to him? Derek would have to ponder these things. The three decided to head back to the restaurant and inform the others. They didn't see Alex's katana anywhere.

Upon making their return safely the sun was beginning to set. They parked the car and went inside. They recapped and told everyone what had happened. They decided they would fire up the burner again for heat. Wildmaven grabbed her lighter and walked over to the stove. She paused for a moment, she thought she smelled gas. She checked the knob, it was in the off position. "Hmm, that's odd" she whispered. She held the lighter out to the burner and turned on the gas. She struck the lighter...

BOOOOOM!! A fireball erupted knocking her backwards into a metal shelving unit. Pots and pan's rained down on top of her. Flames leaped up around the venting system, burning the ceiling. Wildmavens chest was on fire, her eyebrows and some hair singed off. Her face looked burned in a couple of places. Ren rushed to her side and put out the fire. She started performing medical treatment. Maven lay unconscious, it was then that Ren noticed the blood. Maven was bleeding from the back of her head.

Night 10 Recap
Ren managed to stabilize Wildmaven. She had to stay with her through the night. A portion of the ceiling tiles had caught on fire but Crow and Patrick managed to put it out with fire extinguishers.

Everyone took up the defensive potions and just in time. A huge group of zombies began to attack the restaurant. They came from the south drawn by the sound of the car. Adam and Nick did their best to hold the front of the restaurant but eventually they had to fall back to the kitchen. The zombies easily smashed through the windows and made their way into the dining room.

Once inside the kitchen the survivors blocked the two doors. They moved a heavy ice machine in front of one and metal metro shelving in front of the other. The zombies pounded and milled about for hours. Eventually all but two went away in search of food elsewhere.

Shortly before dawn Wildmaven regained consciousness.
