"Uhh... yeah. D-do you need another weapon?"
Wildmaven looked at the tire iron that Etc. was holding out to her. Heck, if she was offering... "Thanks," she smiled at the other survivor as she took the weapon from her hand. She set it in front of her on the edge of the fountain, then pulled a piece of bread out of her pocket, broke it in half and gave one part to Etc. "Eat something. The carbs will give you energy." Tearing the crust off, she tossed it to Axel, who gobbled it down in one breath.
"Do you see anything?"
"It's pretty quite. I think the fire is keeping them away. Have you noticed how they don't like bright light?" She chewed on the bread and wished for some cheese to go with it. And some wine. And a steak. Her stomach grumbled. As the stars became visible, Wildmaven leaned back against the fountain. "So, what do you think about Adam," she asked. The woman had spent more time with him than anyone. Before Etc. could answer, a low growl emanated from Axel's throat. Jumping to attention, Maven noticed the dog's hair on his neck was standing straight up and his ears were back.
"What-"
She didn't have time to finish her question. Off in the distance, a gang of zombies were approaching. "This fountain's not going to protect us from them," she said. Grabbing Etc. by the wrist, she pulled her out of the fountain and back to the cars. Removing the tie from her robe, she attached it to the busted out keyhole of the trunk to the Ford LTD. "Get in," she said. She lifted Axel up and into the trunk. Once they were all in, she pulled it closed with the pink tie and tied it shut. There was just enough room in the hole for her to look through. "Shhhh," she said as she saw the zombies approach the ring of cars.

Patrick sleeps throughout the event, catching up on his well needed rest.
P.S. there were no zombies.

Phaelyn sat on the roof of the bus, quietly mumbling formulas as she read through a rather large textbook. By the time she was 3/4 way through the balancing problems presented to her, she realised that she missed almost the entire night! It was a good thing that she had the ammo to shoot down the zombies she had seen earlier -- what would've happened if one had managed to climb the bus!?

So Pat is admitting he saw no zombies and he slept the whole night and didn't stand guard or anything. And I posted everyone was dealing with zombies during the event description. Just want to be clear.

Adam and Pepper worked together to barricade each entrance and make sure they were ready for any invading undead. They both stood guard at the front door as the last ray of sunlight left them in complete darkness. Except for the light in the upstairs bedroom.
They sat for a full ten minutes, their eyes fixated on the door, waiting for zombies to begin rapping on it. Pepper mindlessly stroked her chainsaw. After some time, they both relaxed and broke their trance. It was then that Adam noticed it wasn't as dark as it should have been.
"Does it seem bright in here to you?" he asked Pepper.
"A little," she said looking at the stairs behind her, "what is that light?"
Adam looked and realized what the source was. He hissed at Pepper, "You left the upstairs bedroom light on!"
"No no no no no no, you were in charge of the upstairs, no no no no, don't even try blaming it on me!" She exclaimed defensively.
"And who," snapped Adam, "was the one who went in that room last because she forgot her precious chainsaw?!"
"No, I left it in the other bedroom!" Pepper protested.
"There's only one bedroom!" Adam contested.
"No, there are two!"
"No, there were two, but one collapsed."
"Not all the way!"
As Adam and Pepper continued to endlessly bicker, the light of the house began to catch the attention of some zombies a good distance away. Had the light not been on, the two stubborn survivors would have gone through the night unnoticed.
"Fine!" Pepper yelled. Adam was expecting her to concede and go turn off the light. Instead she challenged him to a staring contest to determine who would have to go turn off the light.
Adam squinted at her angrily and decided to be the bigger person and just get up and turn off the light. He stood and turned toward the stairs.
"Aha! I win! You just blinked." Pepper boasted.
Adam stopped dead in his tracks. He turned back toward her wide-eyed and sat down again.
"I didn't blink, I was glaring."
"Oh yeah? Then why'd you get up?" She asked.
"I had a lapse in judgement." Adam explained. "You see, I thought you were an adult and were beyond childish games like staring contests."
"Oh, yeah, Adam the big man. If you're so grown up, then how come you came back? How come you're staring at me? How come you haven't blinked?! HA!" Pepper said with a triumphant laugh.
Adam just smiled, and the two of them continued to sit there staring at each other. Neither of them blinked. Neither of them spoke. Neither of them noticed the small horde of zombies closing in on the house.

Night 25 RecapHarold lay very still, he was on the roof of the gun shop. He was the owner and had come up to the roof to defend himself. That was over three weeks ago. During a run for food he had been bitten. That was a week ago. He finally succumbed to the fever and slipped into a coma and died. That was two days ago. Now it was night time and there was a rumbling noise stirring in his head. He slowly rose to his feet. Snoring, there was someone snoring... inside the gun shop. He stumbled around in circles for over an hour before accidentally tripping and falling through a skylight. Glass rained down inside the shop. Harold rose to his feet. There was a man inside, he was just waking up from deep sleep. Harold lunged and bit him. The man bashed Harolds head in and everything went dark. And in the end no one was hurt. Ren(4) - Phaelyn(3) Infected - Derek(5) - Adam and Pepper spent the night arguing, but when the zombies finally showed up the managed to hold them off. They turned out to be quite the team when it came down to life and death situations. Stronghold – (28) Sturdy House 53/120 Rations - 33 Adam(5) - Pepper(5) - Etc and Maven laid quietly in the trunk of the car until the sun came up. When they climbed out the zombies had gone. The two looked in the trunk of the Ford and found a Crowbar (melee weapon). Etc, bonus points for using the term 'zombie juice'. Stronghold – (5) Town Square 4/20 Rations - 23 Etc(5) - Wildmaven(5) -

Ryan, how high is the city gate? I'm assuming this isn't something where we could climb on top of the bus and hop off to the other side, right?

Hm... >< Is there actually a way for us to get over it? I'm not saying you should tell me the way, but if there's no conceivable way out through, over, or under the gate, then I'd like to move on is all

If you had some safe way to scale a 40 foot wall and descend down the other side safely then I suppose you could escape. Of course you'd need to explain how you're doing it.
The wall is 5 feet thick and made of concrete and steel. I would assume that it goes at least 10 feet deep into the ground, if not more.
