Outbreak! (Ended)

The day before, Adam had wandered off and found a place to rest away from the others. He watched from a distance as Nick attempted to tie Etc. up. All the others seemed engrossed in the action, and Adam took the opportunity to slink over to a half-lit wall nearby. No one seemed to notice him at all.

He rested his back against the wall and pulled out his lighter. Holding it delicately, he turned it over a few times before flicking its small flame to life, its light reflecting coldly in his eyes. As he loosened his grip, the flame died and the light leaped away from him.

He looked up and stared at Etc., and as he stood there leaning against the dark wall, he flicked the lighter on and off. On and off. Again and again. Each time the flame ignited, shadows seemed to leap out of the darkness and grip Adam's face, creating a grotesque caricature. Off and on and off again. Darkness, then shadows, then darkness again. And the entire time, he stared. And the entire time, he smiled.

That day he rested and that night he slipped into the shadows unnoticed.

In the morning, he rose early, but kept his distance, waiting to see what they would do.

Seeing that Etc. didn't Change in the night, and noticing the healthier pallor of her skin, Nick unties the rope and stuffs it into his robes. It must have been Ren's medical attention; someone will have to make sure she doesn't get worse.

Giving Etc. some healing points doesn't count as an action so this shouldn't be a problem.

Turning his head, he can't help but notice Adam staring intently at Etc., only to turn his head away a few moments later with a look of severe disappointment. "What's the matter, Adam?" Adam's head snaps towards him. "It's almost like you want something to happen to her. I can't imagine why, but it's making the rest of the group nervous. I think you owe us an explanation."

e: I did pick up the rope after untying Etc., I just didn't post any actions since I was hoping Adam would respond before the day ended. Since he's a total Slacker...

Phaelyn glanced at the shabby state of the mall with relative disapproval. The builders would do a better job at this than me...plus, I think we should send out a scouting party. She also eyed the rope and batteries, which lay unclaimed. Ryan, am I able to claim them?

Kim is glad she found the bullets, but without a weapon they're useless. Either way, she slipped them into her inside jacket pocket keeping them safe. As Kim is walking down some stairs, she suddenly feels nauseous. Maybe it's because the lack of food and sleep? Kim, heads back up the stairs to rejoin some of the group hoping to get a ration and some water.

Etc - You never posted you were using the medkit. And you still have it in your item inventory. I assumed you drinking the medicine was just role playing as a result. You did get healed a bit so that's good that you didn't waste it. Also I have never said it cures infection.

Phaelyn - It looks like Alex picked up the batteries while you were waiting for my answer. Good thing you're working together.

nick - Untying her is a free action. Anyone could have done that part. The tying her up was a bit more complicated because other could have stopped you or she could have resisted. But you got a crit on tying her up, btw.

So, if I take this right, the 46/100 means our current location is getting really dangerous.
The 70/100 is a safer location if we go up the ladder and onto the roof.
The 88/100 is the second floor, which is even stronger.

However............ if the zombies block the exits down, there's no way out except the rope in Nick's pocket.

Is the security gate an individual item, or is this a gate that we can go through that will lead somewhere? We COULD use my nails and the security gate to block the entrance to the roof after we climb up there...

What are the chances the lighter Adam is carrying will light the powder in the bullets if we disassemble them?

The mall has 3 levels of defense. The first floor, second floor and roof. If one of these fall the survivors are automatically pushed back to the next. There is still the chance for attack when this happens. This is still better than the Inn though, if that fell you would need to spend the next day relocating or risk a full out attack at night with no defense.

Also if you find defense items they are automatically applied to the defenses. These are not things you carry around. ie nails.

I bold items, weapons and ammo that you find to indicate they are/can be carried by you.
