If you go to the second url, and enter that code in, you will have the choice to either put the bar which says Hey __, you have _ messages to below the menu buttons, or right above them. It will get rid of that bar where it currently is, making what you want. If you don't want the bar at all though, you can use the code in the first url I posted Second one on that page.

ok thanks, i have establised moving the welcome bit now, but all i want to do now is add another option to the menu bar i want to be this:
[Home] [Help] [Search] [Members] [Calendar] [Admin] [Profile] [Logout] [Chat]
but how do i add the chat, i have looked on the code but i cant understand it.
Sorry to be a pain but im a girl and im fairly new at all this lol

as long as this goes to the top of your header, this code will work quicker:
