Forum URL: youthsanctuary.proboards49.comRecently, me and many of my affiliates have been getting posts with 100-200 URL'S, most of which contain trojans and etc... I have banned this guest (guests?) at least 5 times... Is there anyway you could ban this guest permantly, with out disabling guest posting? *p.s.* here is one of the many sites he/she/it has posted don't click it, or you'll get a trojan(s) and more. Actually, there are sites that have the text boxes that tell you to "type the numbers you see" Anyway you could do that to apply to posting? like a javascript if-else code? Thanks, BB

Only way is to keep banning that guests's ip(S). You really should disable guests posting for awhile. Just till this spammer get's tired and doesn't stop by your forum again. Also remove that link you have in there. If we can't click on it, why post it here right now? If another staff member ask's for the link then post it.

Most of the links have symbols and etc... like ¶ and ã and etc...
I think a great method would be to not allow the post to be posted if censored words appeared in it...
for example, it would come up with an error, like when you don't put in a name for the name text box.
I also think it's computer generated... many of the links are valid...

Sounds more like a suggestion to me here. You could add words to the censored word list hoping this would stop the spammer but it's best to disable guests posting for a little bit. The spammer should stop once he can't get in after a few days.

yeah. I've gotten that three times. But I just ban them and go on with my life. Luckily, they don't drop by very often. It's a bunch of a crazy symbols that link to various sites that give you viruses and trojans and AIM boot pages.

I just delete them once they appear Also, I clicked on a few links, they take me to some blog sites in Chinese

Just to clarify, bots are not humans and will not reply to any threads. The google bot just lurks around to gether info for the google search engine.

I've had that Chinese crap twice on my forum now and its been done with 2 different IP's.
I never click the links and move it to a hidden board and ban that user on sight.
